Well usually it's used as a nn for Katherine (or Catherine) and so it does follow that it could be used as a nickname for forms of Katherine/Catherine like Katrina, Katerina, Caitlin, Kathleen, ect.
Also it can be used as a nickname for the boys name Christopher! :)
