I don't see any boys name ending with a "y" or "ie" being masculine at all. Since Rory's not a very common name in the US, so I'd think most people would assume Rory was a girls' name to being with, especially with the Gilmore Girls character being Rory.I like Rory for girls as a nn for Aurora but not on it's own, it's too simular to names like Lori, Cory, Tori, etc which seem very dated to me.
