[Facts] Re: Meaning and origin of Atticus?
Hi, Ollegard! I see you're posting from... Sweden? Selwyn is in Denmark, and may be able to help you with the meaning of the Danish name "Ollegard".As for "Atticus" -- that I know is Latin and means: "belonging to Attica, or Athens". It was (and still is, I imagine) an appelation denoting classical intelligence, elegance, and wit.It was also the name of the father/lawyer in Harper Lee 's wonderful novel, *To Kill a Mockingbird* -- a character brilliantly portrayed by actor Gregory Peck in the filmed version.-- Nanaea
