[Opinions] Re: Ignatius
I adore the name Ignatius. Iggy is a cute nn, but I feel almost insulted on Ignatius' behalf that he's only being used as a vehicle for the nn Iggy. Seriously, I can come up with some Ignatius combos. But it also occurs to me that there might be some other formal names that you like better for the nn Iggy:Sigmund / Sigismund
Siegfried
Gregory
Digby
Padraig ("PAH-drig")
Gideon
Diego
Inigo (In the Spanish pronunciation, it doesn't contain the "ig" sound. But it is a form of Ignatius so I think you could carry it off. Or, just use the English pr., "IN-i-go.")Well, just a thought.

There is an appeal to Inigo to me but I always look at it and think oh, 'Indigo'. Not a bad thing really but not a name I'd use for my son!I do like Gideon but not with nn Iggy - it stands just find by itself.I'm not too sure about the others though. Sigmund is OK but I prefer Sigrid (f).The thing with Ignatius "Iggy" is that I really don't think that Ignatius works alone as a name - it seems far too pompous. Iggy softens it and makes it quirky IMO.
