[Opinions] Re: Spanish and Irish names
I don't see anything wrong with Meave and Beatriz as simpling. I like both combos and they sound great together! I don't see anything wrong using names of two different ethnic backgrounds together. I think its more acceptable to use french names with Irish names because Irish names (especially w/ americanized spellings) are so "in" right now and many french names have already crossed over into normal english naming (ex: -ette names, Genevieve, etc). Also, in the US (where many of the posters are from) Spanish names are associated more with people of Mexican/Latino heritage as opposed to European Spanish heritage. Because Latin people are a different skin color, using names of this ethnicity on a white baby seems much more "extreme" to many people than using a french name on a white baby as far as naming outside of your own ethnicity goes. Personally, I could care less if you were 100% WASP and decided to name your children Hoshi and Mustafa, but that just my opinion.
