This is my daughter Josephine Frances. You say: Hi Josephine, I love your name!
You think: Her mother must have GREAT taste. I adore Josephine and love Frances... it goes so well together, so old fashioned and quaint. This is my son Hugo Charles. You say: Hi Hugo.
You think: Reminds me of Hurricane Hugo which tore apart Charleston in 1989. Not a good association for me. I love Charles. Overall it sounds sophisticated. This is my daughter Eloise Mary-Catherine.You say: Hi there Eloise!
You think: I really like this name. I could have done without the Mary though. Eloise Catherine would have been fine. I'd also think her mother had good taste, but was probably religious. This is my son Percy Edward. You say: Hi Percy.
You think: EWW.. Percy is such a prissy name. Reminds me of Percy Weasley also, and I hate him. I love Edward. I'd think the mother took the old fashioned thing too far, and wonder if Percy was short for Percival? This is my son Oliver George. We call him Ollie (assuming that he's young).
You say: Hi Ollie, I love your name!
You think: What a fabulous name. George is such a great middle name for this. Most Oliver's I see have James as a middle name, this is a nice change.

This is my daughter Josephine Frances.
You say: Beautiful name!
You think: sameThis is my son Hugo Charles.
You say: How interesting.
You think: Hugo could grow on me, but right now it makes me think of a burly, mean guy. This is my daughter Eloise Mary-Catherine.
You say: How pretty. I have an Aunt Eloise.
You think: And I really dislike her. The name's ok, though. This is my son Percy Edward.
You say: That's different.
You think: Yuck, Percy! Sorry, I can't stand that name. Also makes me think of "prissy".This is my son Oliver George. We call him Ollie (assuming that he's young).
You say: Great name!
You think: Same

This is my daughter Josephine Frances.
You say: Josephine is such a lovely name
You think: but there's too much s & f when paired with Frances. This is my son Hugo Charles.
You say: What an interesting combo.
You think: I hope Hugo doesn't grow into a big boy or everyone will call him huge-o.This is my daughter Eloise Mary-Catherine.
You say: What pretty names. You don't hear them often anymore.
You think: dittoThis is my son Percy Edward.
You say: You don't hear Percy often anymore. Is it a family name?
You think: Percy Edward sounds like a sissy. This is my son Oliver George. We call him Ollie (assuming that he's young).
You say: What a lovely name.
You think: Oliver was my dog's name.

This is my daughter Josephine Frances. You say: How pretty!
You think: Very literary, but growing so common. This is my son Hugo Charles. You say: What a nice name.
You think: Nothing I particularly like. This is my daughter Eloise Mary-Catherine.You say: How interesting. I always loved the Eloise books.
You think: But they never really mixed well with SNL characters. If I see "Mary-Catherine", all I can think is "Gallagher".This is my son Percy Edward. You say: Oh, lovely! Shelley's my favourite poet.
You think: Percy Edgar would be brilliant, but this will do.This is my son Oliver George. We call him Ollie (assuming that he's young).
You say: How nice! Ollie is such a cute nickname.
You think: Makes me think of the Herdmanns from The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. I always liked them.Array

This is my daughter Josephine Frances. You say: That's a gorgeous combination!
You think: exactly what I said. This is my son Hugo Charles. You say: Les Miserables is my favorite book.
You think: And Hugo was the author's LAST name. I prefer Victor, but Hugo Charles does flow well. This is my daughter Eloise Mary-Catherine.You say: What an unlikely combination.
You think: I love Louise, but not Eloise. And Mary-Catherine? Why the double mn? And of all doubles, boring. Should've saved this one for twins and called the other one Heloise Ashley to be cutesy. This is my son Percy Edward. You say: Is Percy short for Percival?
You think: I wish it were short for Percival. Great combo. This is my son Oliver George. We call him Ollie (assuming that he's young).
You say: How cute!
You think: I hate the nn Ollie but I love the combo.
