Logan Taylor - USA - 8 years old
-Logan has curly blonde hair, usually tied in two short plaits, and blue eyes. She also has a great tan, from her 8 years in California. She loves to draw; already, the walls of her pale blue and white bedroom are littered with pictures of herself, our family, our house, and pictures of the USA. She also has a huge notice board, which takes up most of one wall, which she is going to cover with things that remind her of California. (I.e, at the moment she has her plane ticket from the way over, a leaving card that her other foster family gave her, a letter that she has received from her friend Elizabeth, who was in the same children's home as her, and a whole bunch of letters from her social worker Sara to me. She also likes to talk, and she loves to help cook!
She has settled in well, although she's still a little insecure and clingy at times-particularly at night-, and has made friends with two girls that live near us, Becca and Sophie.
Amanda Leigh - USA - 6 years old
Mandy has long, wavy, dark brown hair and big brown eyes. However, although she might look shy, she is definitely not! She loves to tell us all about her life in Washington, and is a perfect little chatterbox. She doesn't like drawing as much as Logan; she loves using old diaries, scrapbooks etc (she loves to write down every little thing that happened today), to make recordings and videos with the tape recorder and video camera! She has a big box at the bottom of her wardrobe filled with everything she needs to make these fantastic 'Memory Capsules' (a name given to her by her social worker back in Washington), and already she's made 3 tapes (including one made whilst on the 12hr journey to England), and 1 video.
She has settled brilliantly into her new school; I have been informed by her teacher that she is easily one of the most popular girls in class, and has made 3 great friends; Daisy, Amy and Jade. She does trampolining, tap and drama clubs, and loves putting on 'shows' for us and her sisters.
Jaci Maiara - USA - 3 years old
-Jaci has pale blonde hair that is feathered finely around her face. It just reaches the top of her spine at the longest part, and frames her pale-ish skin and pale green eyes. She is the shyest of the four girls, and can be very clingy, although she is loud and bubbly around Kika. She doesn't have a particular 'way' to remember her past like Logan and Mandi do, but she seems to like talking about it and drawing pictures of stick people that she lovingly calls her 'Old Fanlee'. She also loves to follow Logan around, although she sometimes gets overwhelmed because Logan loves to run around, shouting and generally being very loud with her friends and Mandi, whereas Jaci herself prefers to play with her dolls inside. She seems to be very protective of Kika, and doesn't like Logan going near her; perhaps because Logan shouts so much! We've signed her up for Ballet, and also tap, so that she can be on her own with Mandi. She goes to a playgroup five days a week, with me, and has a little group of friends there; Megan, Alice, Holly and Emily.
Kekepania Malie - Hawaii - 2 years old
Kika has short, tufty almost-black hair and dark black eyes. She speaks some English; it's been easy to teach her as she only spoke a little Hawaiian anyway.
She's showing an immense liking for painting and flowers; she loves sitting out in the garden, although she feels the cold very easily! As she's so little, all three of the other girls love to look after her, and Kika definitely enjoys all the attention! She is quite loud; we think we've got (another) drama queen on our hands here!
