You say: How creative!
You think: It's a nice idea...but Cade is just atrocious. And should never be used on a girl.

You say: Hey Cade! Your name is one of my favorites :]
You think: Interesting way to get to the name, but thanks to their grandmothers, an awesome name was picked!

Thanks! As I said, it was one of those moments where I thought I had a creative breakthrough, come to find out like almost everything in life, someone else thought of it first! :)
Actually, other than the boy name in Scotland, Cade is a type of Juniper (which has significance to us). Unfortunately, if you look it up in the dictionary, it also means an orphaned offspring, i.e. cade calf. :( But...no one else has ever mentioned that, so I think we're safe! Whatever, we like it, so who cares! :)

I lovvveeee the name Cade, but no one else here seems to, I put it in polls and it would get no votes! I was kind of sad...lol... But idc, because I love it haha.

I say: That's a nice way of honouring them.
I think: It is but it's a pity it makes such a masculine and trendy name.

Is Cade really that trendy? Maybe on this board, but I haven't heard of any out in "the real world". Caden is a different story, though. And I still like it for a girl. But thanks for the honesty - now I know what I may be up against! ;)
EDIT: I actually never even knew it was a boy's name before I came up with the acronym, thought it sounded cool, then went out to see if it meant anything. Maybe that's why I don't think it's trendy, because I didn't know about it til after I THOUGHT I made it up. :-/

Maybe trendy-sounding would be better, I don't know any either. It just seems to be another in a long line of AYD sounds and especially trendy-sounding on a girl.

Okay, fair enough. I don't care if someone thinks it's masculine, but I would care if they thought it trendy. For me, I think the REAL trend (although, it seems everything is a trend nowadays as everyone scrambles to find new and Kreeativ ways of naming their kids) in girl name is overly feminine, long, vowel-filled names. e.g. Angelina, Isabella, Madeline, etc. There's also the surname and place name trends...there's too many to keep up with!!
