Unfortunately, five years and one child later, Nadir and Rose-Marie are no longer together. Their relationship had already been rocky before DS came along, but it deteriorated further when Rose-Marie found out she was pregnant. With Nadir's growing success as a Marine Biologist, his job had only become more demanding, with longer work hours and more research expeditions. The strain of Nadir's absences took its toll. Rose-Marie, once supportive of Nadir's career, began to resent the time it took away from their family. When DS was born, she felt as if she was raising their child alone. Nadir, on the other hand, felt immense pressure to provide for his growing family, which led to frequent arguments between the couple. Despite their best efforts to work through their problems for the sake of DS, it became clear that staying together would only cause DS more harm. And so, they divorced and began to navigate co-parenting. Two years ago Rose-Marie met DF through work. Like Rose-Marie, he is a photojournalist. He proposed to Rose-Marie last month and they plan on getting married this Spring. Nadir has not yet found a new partner, but hopes to find someone soon.
