We have arrived in Venice! I still regret not visiting the Peggy Guggenheim museum while in Venice. Which museum do you not want to miss out on?
1) Doge's Palace
- Italian Palazzo Ducale, official residence in Venice of the doges, who were the elected leaders of the former Venetian republic. This impressive structure, built around a courtyard and richly decorated, was the meeting place of the governing councils and ministries of the republic. In its successive rebuildings, the palace incorporated characteristics of Gothic, Moorish, and Renaissance architecture.
2) Gallerie dell'Accademia
- The city's most important and prestigious art gallery features an impressive collection of Venetian paintings and works by such artists as Bellini, Titian and Mantegna.
3) Natural History Museum
- Housed in the Fontego dei Turchi Palace at the Grand Canal
4) Museo Leonardo da Vinci
- The Leonardo da Vinci Museum exhibits his universal genius through interactive machines, multimedia videos, educational laboratories, infographics, anatomical studies and his most important paintings.
5) Museo Wagner
- This 16th-century home was where German composer Richard Wagner died.
6) Palazzo Mocenigo
- A patrician residence at San Stae, Palazzo Mocenigo houses valuable 18th century artworks and is also home to the Study Centre for the History of Textiles and Costumes.
7) Casanova Museum & Experience
- The Casanova Museum & Experience is a multimedial exhibition where the visitor will have the opportunity to become Casanova for a few minutes and will be able to experience the 18th Century Venice thanks to the virtual reality technology.
8) Peggy Guggenheim Collection
- This satellite gallery of the famous Guggenheim in New York occupies the 17th-century Customs House in Venice, featuring modern and contemporary works of art.
