DS (24, b. 1916): Norman James Perry Blackwell [zsa day]Three years after Marianne’s death Walter remarried to a daughter of an old family friend, Greta who was thirteen at that time quickly bonded with her new step-mother. Having another woman in a house full of males came as a blessing for her. From the beginning on Walter’s new wife considered his children as her own and this only multiplied with time when they were not able to conceive a baby of their own.Hank was the first one to marry at the age of twenty-six, with the help of his father and brothers they built and extension to the house where he and his new wife moved in after their wedding and where they now live with their three daughters aged six, three and two. One day Hank is supposed to take over the farm from his father and he takes that responsibility very seriously soaking in all the information about the crops, animals, farm management and bringing in his more modern view, much to his father’s dismay.Clyde decided to leave the family farm and move north to Canada where he makes his living as a lumberjack. He married only two years after his older brother to a younger sister of one of his mates. The marriage and mostly the events that preceded it were considered slightly scandalous as the young lady was engaged to another man when they met and it took a lot of persuasion on her and her mother’s part to let her father agree to break the engagement off and let her marry Clyde.Greta was married a year after Clyde, her husband is a clerk and following the wedding she has moved from the family farm to the nearby town. At first she worried about living in the town, but has quickly grown accustomed to her new life and routine. She and her husband have been recently blessed with a daughter after nearly five years of marriage. Both Alvin and Norman are still single. Alvin pursued as the only one higher education and finished a college as the first one in family. Norman was helping at the family farm until recently when hearing of WWII he decided to join the army.Walter’s second wife’s first name was in the top 100 of most popular names in USA in 1880’s and ends in –ie (https://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/united-states-decade/1880). Her middle name is a classic.
