DH [24]: Fabian James Fairchild
DW [25]: Eleanor Marietta (Palmer) Fairchild
Fabian and Eleanor met a little under 5 years ago, after Fabian's car broke down on a country road in the middle of nowhere. Eleanor stopped to offer her assistance; she was training to become a mechanic, and fixed his car in under 10 minutes. Fabian was incredibly grateful to her, and charmed by her kindness and generosity. During the conversation they had while Eleanor while they fixed the car, Fabian mentioned being a florist: and so, when Eleanor received a beautiful bouquet of anonymous flowers, she had an idea as to who sent them. She asked around a little, and eventually found Fabian's flower shop, only 5 minutes down the road from her parents' garage! She ended up going in and asking for some flowers for her mum - the next week Fabian was in the Palmer's garage, supposedly asking questions about "cars and oil. And stuff." And so began a strange kind of dance, where yet another of Eleanor's friends was engaged, and they absolutely had to have flowers, and Fabian's engine was making noises again, and maybe it was best that Eleanor took a glance at it. Eventually, after several months, Eleanor realised she had to do something about the feelings she had for Fabian. She went into his shop, asked for a bouquet which meant "I love you", and gave it to him the next day. They dated for the next 3 years, when Fabian proposed through a bunch of flowers (naturally) with a ring nestled in the middle - he cried when Eleanor said yes!
The wedding plannjng process was long and arduous. Eleanor, it turns out, absolutely could not stand Fabian's mother: she was bossy, controlling and judgemental, with antiquated views as to what women should do (certainly not mechanics!). Fabian was rather indecisive, and so in the end, Eleanor made a lot of the choices - asides from the floral arrangements, which Fabian agonised over for hours on end, to both Eleanor's amusement and her concern. After what felt like an eternity, but was really only about a year, the big day arrived. The ceremony was held in the ruins of a local castle, which both bride and groom found utterly enchanting, and the reception in a nearby hotel. Both Eleanor and Fabian were sure it was the happiest day of their lives. Eleanor moved into Fabian's flat above his shop, but continued to work in her parents' garage.
