I found a lot of the same issues as you, particularly the death issue which I will definitely change! As for only the married couples having children, along with the simplicity side of things, my conscience doesn't allow me to host it any other way (I'm very old-fashioned myself) but I know that a few chose to roll for children for all of their couples, which was up to them. You can choose to do that next game if you wish. Thanks for answering my questions and I'll tweak it for next time =)
