Games such as this are definitely my favourite type so I would love to play another one similar to this. Some issues I found were how many deaths of partners I seemed to roll and the likeliness of that happening in real life. Although I do know shock deaths of young people happen all the time, maybe consider only the 'death' option for couples over a certain age. I also found it tricky to fit in the amount of children rolled per round; for example a couple got married in the first roll and so when it came to children I'd roll but if I got 5 I had to try to work out how two 19 year olds birthed five children in five years while keeping it realistic. You could also have included a separate area for how many kids a new partner brings to the relationship because sometimes I rolled that kind of partner but on the next section came up with 6 which meant they didn't have any children! So I had to improvise many times. Also, I'm not sure if it's a little last century that only married couples have the opportunity to have children; perhaps there could be element of choice for the player to chose to roll for each couple to see if they conceive.

I chose to roll for all couples regardless of relationship status, same as I chose the genders of all my significant others by role of dice.
Nothing old fashioned about me and I wanted the game to feel realistic in that way.

I found a lot of the same issues as you, particularly the death issue which I will definitely change! As for only the married couples having children, along with the simplicity side of things, my conscience doesn't allow me to host it any other way (I'm very old-fashioned myself) but I know that a few chose to roll for children for all of their couples, which was up to them. You can choose to do that next game if you wish. Thanks for answering my questions and I'll tweak it for next time =)
