It's not the dark ages, after all. A simple DNA test would clear this all up. Upon taking the test, it is revealed that Rhys is not the son of King Philip, but of his cousin, Lord Edward! Queen Tegwen is frankly shocked, and in spite of the scandal could simply not allow the boy to stay with such an unsavory character. Rhys spends most of his time on Olio with Tegwen's family, which suits him very well.
