HelpNyx' NTNB in the year 2150 - Round 14 (FINAL)
I'd like to thank everybody for participating in this crazy trip into the future. This is going to be the last round, and it won't be judged. Families will stand however you make them, so enjoy!
This is a typical NTNB, except that the year is now 2140 and the trends are slightly different. Below is an UPDATED example of 2150 trends in baby names to help out with each family.
In general, parents are finally fed up with the unique-word-name trend. However, there are some word-names that have become so commonplace as to seem usual/typical/normal/okay. Names that were popular in the early 1900s became the standard set for the grandparents of this latest generation. Names that were popular in the 1990's/2000's/2010's are the current favorites and one of the most popular trends. Other current trends include bird/animal/plant names as first names, unusual surnames names, and global names (that is, names from around the globe). Finally, the most obnoxious trend (to many name-lovers at least) is taking names and spelling them in reverse to create a "new" name.

Howie and Ginger have had two children. Their DD's FN should be a short, uncommon nickname, and her MN should be a longer surname. Their DS will only have a FN... but it needs to be 9-letters long or longer... and it shouldn't be quite as unusual as his father's name. He should have a shorter nickname.

Alfie and Kathleen had a surprise "opps" and now have a DD. Her FN should have a "free-wheeling/outdoorsy" sort of feel and her MN should be 4 letters and contain an "i" at some point.
Rudy and Brenda also had an "opps" just a few months after her sister. Kathleen and Brenda were happy to have the other going through the same thing with them, and it's brought both families much closer. Once again, Rudy and Brenda would like a simple, classic, masculine FN for their DS. He was born in the midst of a summer's heat-wave, and Brenda is once again pestering Rudy to allow her to chose a MN that somehow reflects that... Rudy has agreed, so long as the link is subtle.
Percival and Clementina had a daughter. They would like a longer, uncommon (but not completely unheard of) name for her FN. Percival would really love to continue his family's tradition of using magic/medieval-related names as a MN, and this time Clementina would love to find a MN that is more elf/magic related.
Ximena loves having her daughter, and has refused to consider trying to have any more children. Her reasoning: With one daughter, you can afford to treat her like a princess. Also, this way she doesn't risk her figure. Dennis is so besotted with her that he doesn't really care (or so he tells himself).
Russell and Melinda would love to have more children, but Melinda just can't seem to and her doctor has warned her against trying any more. They've decided to be happy with the blessings they have.
