Many things have happened since Astrid's birth. Annika has left her job as a waitress and she now works at veterinary clinic. She likes her new job, the wage is better and she loves being around animals. She's planning going to school and becoming a vet in the future. Niklas has finally found a job he likes, he works in a small bakery. The owner of the bakery treats him like his own son and is training him to become a professional baker. This has helped Niklas to become more mature and responsible adult. Niklas and Annika have also moved to a bigger house as they have welcomed another daughter, Linnéa, into their family.
