Two years have passed, and your couple has recently gone through quite a few changes. First, one or both have gotten a new job with better pay, which makes the entire family very excited. Not long after that, they discover they they are once again expecting! Among the excitement is also a new challenge: they have to move into a new, larger home in order to accomodate their growing family. Though they are a bit sad to leave the place where they spent the first years of their life in their adopted country, they also love their new place which has plenty of room for them to spread out and even expand their family more in the future.

She soon got comfortable and made friends at the shop. Later, Giovanni and Violetta got more good news; she was pregnant! However, the building's money issues forced them to look for a new place. They found one and it was perfect! A clean bathroom, three bedrooms, a kitchen and living room, all the second floor. They bought a bed for Luisa, as they needed the crib for the baby, and more furniture to fill the house. The baby was born happy and healthy, and they named her Rosalia Delia. Rosalia for Violetta's mother, who died when she was young, and Delia for the deli that helped them get their start in America. They love their new house and Violetta's new job, and can't wait to have more kids! Giovanni wants a boy, but Violetta doesn't care in the slightest.

Also, I thought of the deli/Delia thing after I got the name.

Ingrid started to sew and knit clothes for the poor last winter. She felt like her family had been so lucky that she wanted to help those not as fortunate as herself. People admired her skills but it came as a surprise when there were people in the area who were willing to pay for clothes made by her. Ingrid is now working almost half-time making clothes and she has even sold a few pieces to a store in the nearby village!

While they do miss their family, they don't miss the antisemitic vibes given off by the Poles or the harsh cold winters. Shani and Tuvia send letters to their dad whenever they can, but it is often months before they receive anything back. This makes them sad, but Chani and Gavri are just glad that he, like them, is safe in a non-antisemitic place.
Not too long ago Chani got promoted, she now works as a head nurse in the emergency room. Gavri has also gotten a better job at a different bank and works with investments. The extra money they make, combined, was enough to pay for a larger apartment in a better part of town. Before they left, though, they realized that they could not leave Sarah, their babysitter and neighbor, behind. They were all she had, since her children had decided to go to France and her husband had died. So the Solomons decided to ask her to come live with them, since now they would have ample room.
Their new home has a small yard, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and a room that is not currently being used.
The timing of the move was perfect, as right after they settled in Chani discovered she was pregnant with her second child. Everyone was overjoyed, except for Boaz who had little notion of what actually was taking place.
Now, when Chani and Gavri go to work Sarah cares for the children. She sends the older two off to school with some older kids from across the street and tends to the younger two until Chani comes home.

Evgeni and Liza were delighted to have a second daughter, and they were just as glad that they now live out in a more rural area. Klara is enjoying her first glimpses of grass and trees and all the things they didn't have in the crowded tenements of New York City.

1850 -- Nearly two more years passed, each day bringing more and more immigrants into America. Patrick was lucky not only to hang onto his job, but to receive a promotion as well. Due to his hard work and productivity, he was made a foreman at the steel mill. The accompanying wage increase allowed him to move his family out of his brother's house and into a home of their own in neighboring Charlestown. Margaret was sad to leave her sister-in-law Clara, with whom she'd become very close, but she was also excited for the new start.
It wasn't long afterward that Margaret discovered that she was expecting another child. She and Patrick were looking forward to being parents again, of course, but despite Patrick's promotion money was still somewhat tight, and it would only get tighter when the newest Kelly arrived. Luckily, Margaret was able to find part-time sewing work for some of the wealthy ladies in Boston, and this added much-needed income to the household.
Patrick and Margaret welcomed a son on the fourth anniversary of their arrival in America. To celebrate not only this milestone but also the life they'd left behind in Ireland, they named him James Éamonn, after Patrick's father Séamus and a brother who'd died young.
