In the past two years, Evgeni and Liza have been working hard. Evgeni was laid off from the steel factory about a year ago, but answered a newspaper advertisement that promised work in the Ohio Valley. He has now been working for about 10 months in Ohio helping to train horses. About eight months ago, he sent for Liza and Klara (who had remained in New York City until Evgeni was certain the work would last). Liza waited until she had been reunited with Evgeni to share the news that she was expecting their second child. Galina Sokolov was born just four days ago. Evgeni and Liza were delighted to have a second daughter, and they were just as glad that they now live out in a more rural area. Klara is enjoying her first glimpses of grass and trees and all the things they didn't have in the crowded tenements of New York City.
