Prompt: DCouple has settled nicely into their new homes and lives, but when they found out they were going to be parents, a wave of homesickness swept over one of the couple. They missed family they had had to leave behind, and they felt very depressed for a while. It didn't help when a letter arrived, announcing something exciting that had happened to someone they were close to. But when the baby arrived, all that was forgotten in excitement over their new role as parent. They have given the baby a name that honors someone in the family they left behind (can be FN or MN, up to you). All names come from their family's native language.
Rules:

2. Ages are required. I will keep up with them.
3. Please try and keep names and story at least fairly accurate to time period you choose to set your story in.

Seamus and Roisin have settled in fairly nicely. They are based in a rural property outside of Sydney. Seamus is lucky enough to have family members with decent wealth in Sydney so whilst their property itself is small, Seamus works on his Uncle Jock's property nearby. The house itself is small but is nicely furnished and comfortable. Roisin knows how lucky she is, and soon after moving they find she is pregnant.
Between corespondance to her mother and father she also discovers that her grandfather Fergus is very ill, this saddens her because Fergus is a very close friend and a second father to Roisin.
She later finds out that Fergus has passed, almost a month later their baby is born. They decided to name him after his great grandfather. His name is Conall Fergus

It is 1947 and after saying goodbye to friends in New York City, Ziva and Gideon are settled in Buenos Aires, where the large Jewish population has helped them to fit in. They were excited to raise their expected child in a place that didn't hold Poland's tragic memories. They began to regret their decision when they heard of Gideon's sisters making aliyah to Palestine, which they had dreamed of doing when they were younger. But when little Immanuel David Chaikin was born on the second anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, they felt that they had done the right thing in coming to such a new land. They named him Immanuel, meaning "God is with us", and David, Ziva's maiden name, to honor all those in her family that were slaughtered during the Holocaust.

They refused to include her into the family and even threatened to disown John should he marry her.
John wrote of his problems to his cousin Thomas, who had left for America the past year. He was running a hotel and promised to employ both John and Kathleen if they wished to join him in America. After marrying in a simple ceremony with only John's brother present, the two left for America. Upon arriving in New York City and being processed, they began their new life. Kathleen was hired as a chambermaid, spending her days cleaning the rooms. John did not want Kathleen to do such grueling work, but realized it was necessary. John's job was to help keep up repairs in the hotel. The work was difficult, but the couple was rewarded with a place to stay and food to eat.

Sean found work for his brother at the steel mill where he was also employed. The foreman was brutal and the work exhausting, but Patrick was thankful to have any job at all. Margaret spent her days with Sean's wife, an American named Clara, and the couple's three children. Being so surrounded by family made Margaret yearn for the one she had left behind in Galway, even more so after she discovered she was pregnant. It didn't help when a letter arrived from home, proudly announcing that Margaret's sister Caitríona had given birth to a little boy. Margaret was inconsolable that her own child would likely never know its Irish grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
But all that sorrow washed away when she delivered a healthy baby girl. To be sure, Patrick had been hoping for a boy to name after his father, but from the moment he first laid eyes on his daughter, he knew he would not trade her for the world. The couple named her Kathleen Brighid, after Margaret's sister and mother.

Luckily, the family does not have to be in the apartment long. Shani goes to school most of the day and Tuvia and Boaz spend their days with Sarah, an old widow from across the street. Sarah is very pleasant. Meanwhile Chana works as a nurse and Gavri as a banker.
