Hello! I don't know if this game will work out, but I want to give it a try.
In this game, everyone will have a superhuman ability. You can be a non-human with abilities natural to your species, your abilities can come from an object, or your abilities can be the result of mutation. You're also welcome to use a combination of these as long as they relate to each other. The choice is yours, but it would be interesting if not everyone picked the same abilities. Let's get to know each other by answering a few question, which can be in any form you want. Please do not include significant others or children yet, but you can mention any relatives from your past.

1. Name: Tess J. Nieva
2. Physical Appearance: 5'3'' 125 lb. Short straight black hair. A small nose, deep-set brown eyes, and an overabundance of freckles.
3. Abilities: Tess is able to create a small amount of light and heat in her face, and the palms of her hands. She got her powers when she accidentally swallowed a firefly that had just escaped from her mother's science lab.

Name: Ottilie Geraldine Lin Delacroix
Alias: Kairos
Age: 22
Appearance: Hair colour is naturally black, but dyed hot pink and frequently wrecked with various hair dyes. Aforementioned pink hair falls to below her shoulders and is slightly wavy and very flyaway. Eyes are almond shaped and dark brown in colour; she is slightly short-sighted and so wears glasses. She has a button nose and a few freckles, with a skin-tone which is a testimony to her mixed Asian and Caucasian heritage. Not as muscular as pictured, she is instead short and compact, slightly toned from self-defense classes but not massively strong and still with a tiny bit of a belly from too many chocolates. She has several tattoos on her person from a more rebellious youth. Her costume is homemade and impromptu - a teal dress with a silver slash design, a black belt, choker and boots, and bright pink arm...things. She also has a battered jacket - all edgy and punkish and slightly too rebellious youth, but she's never grown out of it - she likes to wear. It's not the best costume - it's not even identifiable, but that suits her low-attention attitude perfectly, and besides, anything more complex is beyond her.
Ability: (Mutant) Chronokinesis. Basically, the control of time. Tilly can see backwards and occasionally forwards in time, dependent on being in contact with the place, person or thing in question. For example, she can see what events might unfold in a place, but only if she is physically in that place when attempting to use her power. Because of the nature of time, these things might not happen or might unfold in a different way, and because of the nature of her power, things are often cryptic, even to the point where they don't make sense until after the event has happened, or key details may be omitted.

Physical Appearance: 18 yrs old; petite; fair complexion; long, straight, black hair; black eyes
Superhuman Ability: Technopathy. She comes from a family of superhumans. Nothing is known of her parents because neither are a part of her life, but her 5 older brothers all have abilities. When she was born the hospital experienced a momentary blackout. It wasn't until puberty that her abilities fully manifested, though.

POOF! He is a whole new guy: Hermacles, the mighty warrior of supernatural strength and cunning.
He tries to hide it from his friends, but when he was tiny, he dreamt that the god Hermes appeared to him, entrusting him with this great power. The next day, he found that these powers truly were bestowed upon him. In honor of this god, he took up the name Hermacles.

Question: What/where is the congrats set? I'm currently assuming it's set in the USA, present-day-ish, and save for the presence of superheroes, mostly similar to real life. Somewhat like an Earth 616 analogue. If that is not the case, I shall edit the post.
Name: Velvela Anya Vang, alias Veritas
Age: 20
Appearance: Near-black, long, wavy hair; similar-coloured eyes. Skin colour borders on swarthy, slight, lithe body. She likes to wear a half-smirk on her face, twisting only the left side of her lips for a smile.
Power(s): Telepathy and telekinesis; it seems, so far, that she is a born mutant, although Velvela had just finally learned to control and develop her powers better as a teenager.
Backstory: Velvela Vang was born as the only child to a happy Yiddish couple living in New York. When she was a child, it transpired to her parents, Dovid and Anya, that their daughter was, in fact, a mutant. As little Velvela grew up, it became apparent that unlike her family, not everyone in the world is happy about the presence of "superhumans" in their midst. She was twelve when she discovered she could lift objects without touching them; fourteen when she learnt to send telepathic messages to other people's minds; fifteen when she discovered she could read minds. Throughout her teenage years, Velvela never disclosed to others that she was a mutant, all the while secretly practising and honing her abilities in the safety of her home.
With her parents' blessing, at the age of eighteen she took up her dream and designed a superhero alter-ego known as Veritas, a force of truth in the city. She would frequently go out under this identity and use her powers to tackle criminals off the streets without attracting much media attention to herself. Meanwhile, Velvela Vang's friends knew her simply as another cheerful, devout fellow student, striving to earn her degree in the arts and become a teacher.
