The not so easy partner congrats - SIGN UP (closed for now)
I've been thinking of this idea for a while and I finally came around to do it. :)
I love the typical partner congrats - but I think it can get pretty boring if your partner agrees to everything and both of you like the same kind of names. Life isn't like that, and there's a big chance that your IRL partner won't like all your suggestions.
So, I decided to do a "not so easy partner congrats". If you want to play, just fill in the form below and I'll do the rest. For round 1, I will assign you a partner whose naming style isn't exactly like yours. There might be some naming rules in this congrats,or not, I haven't decided yet.
SIGN UP FORM:
1. Is popularity a big issue for you?
2. How would you describe your naming style? (just a sentence or something, it doesn't have to be long)
3. Is the meaning of a name important to you?
4. Please list 3 names of each gender that you love

1. Is popularity a big issue for you?
Yes and no. I mostly like more unusual names, but I do like some popular names as well. I think combos with only very common names are somewhat boring and if I was to use a popular fn I'd choose a more unusual mn (or vice versa).
2. How would you describe your naming style? (just a sentence or something, it doesn't have to be long)
Somewhat diverse. I don't like or dislike names just because they are trendy, classic, biblical, made-up, unisex or something. I tend to stay away from word names spelled wrong, very creative spellings, overly religious combos, filler middle names, and boring unimaginative combos.
3. Is the meaning of a name important to you?
Negative meaning wouldn't stop me using a name I otherwise love. Positive meaning wouldn't make me use a name I otherwise hate, but it could make me use a name I that I think is okay but don't exactly love. I don't see overly religious meanings as positive.
4. Please list 3 names of each gender that you love
Aurelia, Cordelia, Rhea
Edward, Dorian, Jasper

1. Is popularity a big issue for you? No, but I'd prefer something that is not very popular.
2. How would you describe your naming style? I like Biblical names, as well as names that sound fairly British, maybe with a hint of French, too. Oh, and Shakespearean names are on my list, as are Saint names.
3. Is the meaning of a name important to you? They can be. If I find a name that has a meaning that I like, I'll probably start liking the name, too.

1. It's an issue, but not really a big issue. Trendy names turn me off, and unless I really love a name (e.g. William), I will probably shy away from something extremely popular (e.g. Sophia, which I would otherwise love). But I wouldn't be entirely opposed to it either.
2. Anything but modern. I usually go for traditional names but I also prefer them to be unique, as long as they're not ridiculously complex or difficult to pronounce. I would prefer names that work well in the English-speaking world since that's where I am. I like names with an old, historic, romantic sort of quality to them. And I have an inclination toward names that end in S or N, especially for boys.
3. Not really.
4. Cecily, Mercedes, Glenice; William, Tristan, Julian.
Also, I haven't signed up for one of these before, so if there's anything I should know please don't hesitate to explain! I've browsed other threads on this board and just get confused. (:

1. Is popularity a big issue for you? It is somewhat. I like some popular names but I would most likely not use them if they were too popular.
2. How would you describe your naming style? (just a sentence or something, it doesn't have to be long) My naming style is very diverse. I like a lot of biblical and classic names, but also some more modern names as well.
3. Is the meaning of a name important to you? If a name has a nice meaning it's a plus but it doesn't determine the name I choose.

Sounds fun!
1. Not really, at least for boys. I love Michael, Daniel, and Anthony, for example.
2. I love just about every name...seriously. But my personal taste leans toward clunky, old-fashioned names, with a strong emphasis on saints' names, in English, French, Spanish, and Italian.
3. Yes, but it's generally not the most important thing, unless the name is also a word (i.e. Frank).
4. Chester, Frank, and Saul ... Augustine, Lou, Jean.

1. Is popularity a big issue for you?
Not really. I'd use a very popular name if I liked it but I would avoid very popular / filler middle names.
2. How would you describe your naming style?
I like classic and modern names from all/most languages. I dislike creative spellings and most made up names but there are exeptions.
3. Is the meaning of a name important to you?
Yes, but it's not a deal-braker.
4. Please list 3 names of each gender that you love.
Aurora, Phaedra, Helena & Henry, Alexander, Sebastian.

1. Is popularity a big issue for you? Not really...Maybe if its trendy, but if it's a classic like Grace, its not a big deal to me
