This game has two components to it. The first component is to select a 'Spouse1' and a 'Spouse2' for each 'Family' from the list below. Yes, there are more spouses then families, and I did this intentionally so that there would be choices for everybody. (If you chose, you can take the remaining spouses and form a final family.) The second component is to find names for the children of the 'Family' based in part on the information you have on each spouse and in part on the rules provided for that child (FN and MN rules are separated by a period
[.]). If you want to add a second MN to any family, feel free. Have fun!
Rules: Everything is flexible and I encourage you to bend whatever rules you need to to make it work, while still having fun and being challenged. Feel free to add ages or story-lines to your families :)
Spouses
Spouse: Amos Maximilian Priddy (A.M.P. - surname meaning: "bard")
Amos loves the outdoors and spends as much time outdoors as possible. His ideal home would be out in the country, at least an hour from the nearest store. Amos is currently a firefighter, but is thinking that he would like to turn specialist and help put out forest fires. This would give him the winter to play with his music and go camping.
Amos' naming style reflects his love for the outdoors. He likes botanical names for both girls and boys. Also, he likes short, strong names for boys and longer, feminine names for girls.
Spouse: Thelonius "Tillo" Humphrey Ebner (T.H.E. - surname meaning: "judge, arbiter")
Tillo loves the big city. He's the guy who loves to go clubbing on the weekend, has a Starbucks every morning, and can't imagine life without cell phone reception. Tillo currently does computer programming and website design. On the side he does a little photography and is starting to get some recognition for his work.
Tillo didn't like his name much growing up, but now credits it for his individuality and creativity. He would like to pass that on to his children. He would like a funky/different FN, maybe with a cool nickname. He loves very old-fashioned names as MNs.
Spouse: Jude Adam Zsoldos (J.A.Z. - surname meaning: "mercenary")
Jude is very much your average yuppie. He has the latest gadgets, a nice car, and an office job which he wears a suit to every day (whenever he tries to tell you what he actually does, most people get so bored they tune out!). He loves trying restaurants that offer different cultural foods, and visits the outdoor market almost every weekend to get his organic fruits and vegetables.
If it's a hipster/yupster-type name, Jude loves it.
Spouse: Beau Dudley Chevalier (B.D.C. - surname meaning: "knight" or "horse")
Beau grew up in the deep south. His passion is dancing, and he's pretty good at it. Recently he was "discovered" when he went to addition on one of those reality TV shows. He made it pretty far in the competition, but didn't win. However, he did get a job offer and is currently attending and teaching at a top level dance school.
Overall, Beau isn't that fond of his FN and HATES his MN. He would like to avoid this in his children by choosing popular/trendy names. However, he also loves his southern roots and wants to somehow combine that into the names he choses also.
Spouse: Susanna "Susie" Irene Drago (S.I.D. - surname meaning: "dragon")
Susie is your typical girl-next-door sort of girl. She's sweet, mild, and everybody's friend, and she's super quiet/shy. She's looking for a guy that can help pull her out of her shell sometimes, but also give he space and quite at times. Oh, and she's an author. She just had her first book break into the New York Times list of best sellers, and is always working on a new novel or another in the series she has.
Being an author, Susie LOVES names. She loves ALL names. Her only real gripe with names are the trendy names that start to sound dated when the person turns 30. She also has a secret passion for names from the 80's and the 50's that aren't popular anymore.
Spouse: Nora Margaret Rayne (N.M.R. - surname meaning: "queen")
Nora is a high maintenance girl. She has to have her nails and hair done in a salon on a regular basis. She loves to shop, and will only wear an outfit in the same way once (she'll wear the skirt again, just not with the same top/boots/etc). In fact, she keeps a journal and is working on developing a database to keep track of her outfits so she doesn't duplicate anything. As you can imagine, this leads to more shopping. Luckily, Nora's parents are rich... and lucky for her they give her credit cards and pay them off.
Nora likes names that have a personal meaning to her. She's considering names of places she's been, of brand's she loves, or even names from the songs she listens too. The name just has to relate in some way to something personal for her.
Spouse: Adina Daisy Joshi (A.D.J. - surname meaning: "priest" or "astrologist" or "fortune teller")
Adina grew up in a pretty orthodox-religious household. It taught her a few things. 1.) Tolerance is a commodity that is in short supply and should be cultivated. 2.) That her parent's religion wasn't right for her. She spent years studying religion, and even majored in it in college. In the end, she found that she didn't believe in any one system, but had respect for them all. She's become a pastor at a non-denominational church thats main focus is on creating a network for its members and helping their community as much as they can.
Adina loves names with religious meanings or tie-ins... and would love to use names from many different cultures/religions in each child's name (maybe a second MN?). Also, she loves her surname and the meaning behind it. She would love to pass it down to a child in some way.
Spouse: Rue Eugenia Linna (R.E.L. - surname meaning "castle")
Rue loves skateboarding, longboarding, surfing and snowboarding. She grew up in Hawaii over the summers and spent the winters in the mountains. She's managed to turn her passions into a career. Between competitions she has a company that produces boards (skate, surf and snow) and clothes. Her brand (Castle Rel) has become a favorite among those who are into the sports, and is getting more popular among others as she wins/places in more competitions.
Rue loves short, one-syllable names, Hawaiian names, and Scandinavian names (the last being part of her heritage).
