A lot of changes have happened in the last year to Ari and Nicholas's family. First Marius and Electra welcomed a daughter, a beautiful little girl with her mother's black hair but vivid violet eyes. They named her Lilia for Electra's sister who died when she was a baby, Andromeda after her mother, and Susan after Electra herself. A few months after, Ione also gave birth, to twins! The girl was born first, a beautiful little girl with dark hair and the same vividly violet eyes Lilia had. The boy also had violet eyes, though not as bright, and both he and the girl look very like their mother, though the boy's hair is redder. Ione andArthur had chosen named beforehand and thought it funny they used both of them. The girl they named Viviana, a name both loved, and Minerva Hermione after Ari's sisters. The boy they named Hector, another name both loved, and Nicholas Arthur after grandfather and father. Elizabeth is a wonderful sister to Viva and Hector, and Marius and Electra love to visit all of the cousins with little Lilia and have her play with all the other children.
A few months after the twins were born, Olivia announced to the family that she was engaged. This came as no surprise to the family; at fifteen she had fallen in love with a young son of an appointee lady, a boy who was studying diplomacy with her under her mother. No one was surprised when Maximus and Olivia annouced their enagement, and everyone was happy. Their temperaments aren't the same--Maximus isn't as quiet or observant as Olivia--but they complement one another. They make an almost unfairly beautiful couple, with Olivia's celebrated beauty (many consider her the most beautiful of all the cousins, much to her aunt Alexandra's chagrin) and Maximus's decidedly extraordinary handsomeness. Dark-haired, green-eyed, tall, and with a warm and loving smile that melts hearts, especially Olivia's.
As for the rest of the family, Callista has begun training to be a teacher at Hermione's academy. Her progress and quick mind allowed her to start an entire year early. As such, she has had less time lately for schemes with Nyx, Patroklos, Niobe, and Remus. Niobe, having recently entered Ari's regular spy training program after progressing enough from her private lessons. Still, the five friends spend as much time together as possible and are still very close. They love to visit their various older sisters and brothers and play with their young nieces and nephews. They have all agreed they are not ready for marriage yet, for which Ari and Nicholas are truly greatful.
Remus, in addition to advancing in his studies (especially his magical studies), has recently taken on a new interest--reforming Arista. After overhearing his uncle Demetrius asking his mother for advice, Remus decided to try and help as well. The two have never been close--in fact, Arista has never been close to any of her cousins or her siblings--but he believes that he can help change her attitude by getting her to spend time with him and the other cousins (and Arista's siblings) so they can keep her from abusing people. He is sure she just doesn't realize that her behavior is out of line and that showing her how to behave properly (and stopping her from behaving badly) will help. Ari isn't so sure something so simple will work, but Remus was so enthusiastic about it that she decided to let him try. Ari and Nicholas both fear the wrath of Alexandra will come down on Remus if she finds out he is trying to change her favorite daughter.
Little Galen is not so little anymore. Like Callista, he is already unusually tall for his age. He is turning into quite the handsome lad, looking very much like his father, and he is still a sweet, happy little boy. He loves being an uncle and playing with his nieces and nephew. He is a great friend to all of the cousins around his age and loved by all the older ones as well. He is the only cousin Arista seems to enjoy being around for some reason, though he has started avoiding her because her temper and treatment of other people frightens him and makes him distrust her. He is nice to her as he is to everyone, but he is always afraid she will one day lose her temper with him, which keeps him from liking her. Ari doesn't like Arista hanging around him, as she is afraid her attitudes may infect her impressionable young son.
