Five years have passed, and the Wright family is still living their peaceful, idyllic existence. Well, it was a bit less idyllic the day Phineas decided to chase Mrs Mooney all the way to the roof, and it was certainly less idyllic when Ophelia threw a tantrum at him for "nearly killing her"! But all in all, the family is happy. George and Louise could never have imagined a better life.

Meanwhile, five years for Kylie Foster has changed a lot of her world. Her plan to climb the social ladder through marrying Jules Erroll has failed miserably when she caused a scandal again. This time, Kylie sent the press hounding after them when she got herself all drunk again (her old vice) and crashed her ridiculously-expensive sports car in the middle of the city. Jules was thoroughly embarrassed by his fiancee's actions, and after a lot of sudden coldness and arguments, their engagement was cancelled. Now, Kylie Foster is still stuck looking for a newer, younger, richer suitor.
On the other hand, Conan McGinnis, Kylie's former partner, has found a stable life with his son and step-son. After years living with his step-father, Kris has announced that he wants to be Conan's son for real, and thus after a long process, he was renamed Kris McGinnis and formally part of Conan's family. Kieran, too, decided he wants the same name as his brother and father, and thus dropped his mother's surname. Funny how the men never wanted to remember Kylie once they're done with her!

The Brivio family, like the Wrights before them, did not experience much change during their five years. Enzo has graduated from high school and is now one of the best students in his class in university, where he is pursuing a career in medicine. Dante and Celia, while jealous of their brother's educational proficiency, are quick to prove that they are just as talented in other fields, while Bianca and Aldo prove that they are very talented in training Toto to be "the univers's best dog" [sic]. Ale and Gemma still love each other deeply, and their family was a tranquil one.

Five years have brought a bit of change for the Jennings and the Trents. Fi and Ella-Jane have decided to part ways (peacefully, this time, as Fi have learnt from her past mistakes), and while the two still see each other occasionally, they are fully certain that continuing their partnership is impossible. Rita, Naima, Alice, and Celeste are not entirely sure about losing another mum, but then they figured that in a way, they have three mothers, one father, one brother, and one extra sister; suddenly, things don't seem so bad for them any more.
Grace and Gil, though, have lived a calmer existence, with Camden and little Violet cheering them on their way. Grace has heard of Fi and Ella-Jane's break up, and although she never really forgave Fi for her past mistakes, Grace is happy that Fi has managed to resolve the situation better this time around. The Trent family is small but cheerful, the perfect caricature of the happily-married divorcee and widower.
