Abbie Rachael is a 15-year-old girl from New Zealand. She is currently four months pregnant, and that's the reason why her conservative parents decided to cut all ties with her. She doesn't know what she is having, and she is not sure as to what she will do with the baby yet. Abbie has curly brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin. She is very creative and loves to make things, from homemade postcards to painting portraits and still lives. One of her hobbies is photography, which Abbie would like to make a name for herself in; others are watching films, arts and crafts, and vintage clothing. She is kind and a bit daydreamy but also very strong-opinionated. Abbie has no disabilities or known medical conditions.Charlotte Kate and Isabelle May are 5-year-old fraternal twins from Guernsey. Their parents died five months ago in a housefire. Charlotte has straight light brown hair and blue eyes, and Isabelle has straight blonde hair and grey eyes; both have fair skin. Charlotte is calm and thoughtful, and hates being called Charlie. She likes to help out in the kitchen, flowers, the colour pink and playing with dolls. Isabelle is more active and energetic, and she likes sports, horses, dolls and frilly clothes. Both girls are shortsighted, but otherwise healthy.Xolani is a 2-year-old boy from South Africa. He is HIV+, and his mother recently died of pneumonia worsened by AIDS. With proper treatment, he should be able to live a long, happy and fulfilling life. Xolani has curly brown hair, brown eyes and dark skin. He is a very bubbly and friendly child who enjoys the outdoors, peek-a-boo, sweet food and running after animals. Xolani's mother tongue is Zulu, but he understands English well even if he is too lazy to speak it.Please let us know how Abbie, Charlotte, Isabelle and Xolani are doing!

1 year laterWe are loving our life full of children. Abbie is now 16 and has just gotten her license. She had a boy that she named Adam Paul after Nicholas. She thought of putting him up for adoption. We told her that if she kept him we would help out and make sure she graduated. In the end she decided that she wanted to keep him and we take care of him pretty much the same way as we care for our other children except he knows us as grandma and grandpa. He is already learning to walk and we are very excited.
Charlotte and Isabelle are doing great. They love 'helping' with Lily, Xolani, and Adam. Isabelle has starting horseback riding and soccer and loves it. Isabelle loves to play sports against her big brothers and swears one day she will beat them. Charlotte helps me with dinner frequently and can't wait until she is big enough to cook by herself. Recently we took Charlotte, Isabelle, and Lily to the American Girl Place and they all had an amazing time.
Xolani is speaking English fluently now. He loves to play with Shelby and Hezekiah. He is doing well healthwise.
Lily loves having big sisters. Abbie frequently does her hair and nails. Charlotte and Lily love to color anything and everything pink. Isabelle is teaching Lily how to safely catch butterflies and then let them go. Lily and Xolani are now both in Preschool and they love going together because they always have someone to play with and they don't have to be scared.
