Aeronwy's Medieval/Royal Cogratulations ~ Round The Second
Please make sure to write your narrative within 24 hours of posting. Thank you.
-------------------------------
With the nobles now set in their allegiances, the rebels meet to form a plan to make decisive action, due to their failed poisoning attempt. What does it entail? Who do they plan to put in power once the King and Queen are deposed? Do they plan to spare the heir to the throne? Are they all aligned in their thinking, or are they plotting against each other in order to serve their ambition?

Elijah and Adina have convinced many others in the past year that their eldest son should be King. They are rather enthusiastic about the idea of Andrew and Jocelyn Mullinex's children marrying Nathanel's siblings.
Young King Henry sent someone to search the Duke and Duchess' home one night but, fortunately for the pair, they were unable to find anything incriminating.
Nethanel enjoys spending time with Lady Guinevere and asked his Father if it was alright to propose to her. After a great many months of thinking, and snooping, Duke Elijah refused his son and asked him to look into foreign Princesses instead. Young Nethanel has ignored his father's requests and has continued to correspond with Lady Guinevere.
Delilah is still a renowned flirt and her favourite target is Lord Geoffrey. She has been trying to avoid him though, finding herself too attatched to him, but that hasn't worked so well since he is at court almost constantly now.
Stephen is almost a certified Knight, much to his parents' dismay, and is currently persuing a commoner named Eleanor Cooper. She flirts with him constantly but refuses to sleep with him until they are married.
Daniel is basically the care-giver for Dorcas now, because both Elijah and Adina find themselves far too busy to care for their youngest daughter. Daniel enjoys painting his sister, although she loathes to stay still, and Baron Hiram and Baroness Elissa's twins Zephaniah and Matilda if they are visiting his baby sister.
Miriam, torn up over her parent's continuing treason, has been extremely worried all year. She spurned Darius, acting extremely terse whenever he was near. Her nails are short and the skin around them is cracked and tearing but near the end of the year she made her decision. Stealing one of Duke Elijah horses she set off for court to tell the King and Queen of her parent's plans.
Ariel & Peninnah love playing with Roland and the village children, they still climb trees constantly and are in love with the Amazing Ren's antics.

Butler: Andrew Patrick Mullinix (24)
Dresser: Jocelyn Laura Mullinix (21)
-D: Sandra Morgaine Mullinix (1)
-S: Magnus Oliver Mullinix (d. at 3 mos)
Jocelyn felt great about her life, having a daughter that had grown stronger, and being pregnant once again. But she had a nagging feeling everything was just too good to be true... Alas, she was right. The birth of Magnus Oliver was long and painful, and since the queen was giving birth about the same time, there were no nurses in the castle to help her. Magnus came out weak and small and Andrew had to slap him several times before he even cried. The weeks that followed were full anxiety, Magnus barely made a sound or a move, and finally, he wouldn't even drink when Jocelyn tried to feed him. One rainy night, Jocelyn woke up with panic in her chest. She ran to Magnus' crib and lifted him up. Just like in the nightmare she'd just had, he was ice cold and when she held her hand to his chest, there was no heart beating there. Magnus had passed away already.
The following months were hard on Jocelyn and Andrew. Jocelyn found it difficult to be around her closest friend Amy, with her two healthy boys (yes, she was jealous), but found comfort in the queen's company. The queen had also lost her son recently, and Jocelyn understood how she felt. They didn't talk very much, but an understanding nod was just enough. More than ever, Jocelyn supported the royal family.
Andrew on the other hand, found the royal family partly responsible for Magnus' death - if all the nurses hadn't been around the queen when she was pregnant, maybe one of them could have helped Jocelyn, and then, Magnus might have lived. He was so angry, he even went to the top secret rebellion meeting. Andrew was masked of course, but every one else at the meeting could figure out who he was. He was the only one who wasn't a duke, sir, knight or anything else fancy.
At the meeting it was decided that Nethanel should be the next king if the royal family was killed. Everyone agreed on that Andrew had the best shot to kill the family, since he lived in the castle. Andrew agreed on this, if his daughter, and future children, could be married to Nethanel's brothers and sisters. Duke Elijah accepted this, and Andrew was satisfied. Maybe he could now restore the glory his family had once had. If only he could remove the royal family...

Well, then,
You have to change your characters. I clearly stated in my initial rules that there can only be one King and Queen because we're all part of the same intertwining plot, and blue_belle claimed it first. I don't mean to be rude, because it's just a game, but either make your family nobles or don't be in it.

Maybe the could be king & Queen of a traveling or disaporic people, akin to a king of the gypsies or even leader of a surpressed people within Angleterra
Yeah, that's what I thought too! Or, a war/revolution could force them to move from there original country to Angleterra..
Good idea!
Anthony is far more diplomatic than I. But those would be great.

Count: Ezio Alessandro [Auditore] da Firenze (26)
Countess: Rosa Maddalena [de Magianis] da Firenze (24)
-S: Federico Antonio "Fede" (1)
-D: Maria Caterina (nb)
Just before Fede's first birthday, Rosa found herself pregnant again. The pregnancy was, as before, a relatively easy one, and after the full term was carried an Auditore daughter was born, Maria Caterina. Rosa and Ezio are getting more busy now, with one baby boy and a newborn girl in tow.
When Maria is about three months old, a surprise visitor came to the Villa Auditore, Lord Bartholomew. Ezio and Rosa are certainly not expecting a guest, and it took a while for Rosa to usher Fede and bring Maria to the upper room and get the servants quiet down while Ezio receives his guest. While Lord Bartholomew did not do much more besides talking and general chatting, Ezio could sense what it was he was heading to: the Auditore's loyalties. By the time Lord Bartholomew left, Ezio made sure he had received the impression that the Auditore will not choose hastily.
In a while, Rosa overheard one of the servants talking about Lord Bartholomew returning to report to King Henry, and she in turn expressed this news to her husband. Ezio accepted the information and left for the castle, disguised as a monk with hooded robes, and managed to sneak inside under his disguise. By remaining in the shadows and in complete silence, Ezio managed to glean what little he could from Henry and Bartholomew's conversation. The latter had assured the king that most prospective threats have proved their loyalties to Henry, with the exception of the "shrewd and unconvinced" Auditore family and the "sickeningly sweet" Duke Elijah and Duchess Adina.
However, upon his return to the Villa Auditore, Ezio was greeted with an unpleasant surprise. The Villa was being stormed by a group of guards, with his wife, children, and servants ordered to stand in the courtyard while their house is being raided. Enraged, Ezio demanded the cause for such unnecessary atrocities from the guards' leader, who replied that it was the king's orders that all the nobles' houses be searched for.

King: Henry Philip Arthur James (HRH Henry I of Angleterra) (26)
Queen: Morgana Roslindis Briar Jane (Queen Consort of Angleterra) (19)
-S: Tristan Leopold Arthur Charles (HRH Prince Tristan) (1)
-S: Philip Beowulf Frederick James (d. 6 days after birth)
As the plot to overthrow King Henry thickened, Queen Morgana announced her pregnancy merely a few months after the birth of Prince Tristan. Henry, increasingly worried about his crown and Queen, was growing impatient at the very slow turning of events, for he could not hide the truth from Morgana for much longer. The fact that the subjects in his Kingdom would dare question his divine right angered him, was he not a good king? Was the land not prospering? In fact, life in Angelterra had never been better for all who lived there, yet traitors were still among him, and Henry sensed they were growing in numbers. He decided he had two options; he could either ‘whoo’ the nobility with his charms, bribing and buying their love. Or, Henry could do it ‘the hard way’ and inflict fear upon the people so they would not dare to so much as think of betraying him. On this, he remained undecided on, but mercy on his behalf, at this point, could not be counted on – after all, he was the one and rightful King.
Confiding to Lord Bartholomew, Henry decided the best course of action was to first determine where allegiances laid. On Henry’s orders, Bartholomew was to travel the land and visit all nobility to assess and determine whom could and could not be trusted. Upon return from his mission, Bartholomew assured Henry that his mission was a success and that Henry could be positive that Baron FitzGilbert, Barons Hiram and Bronomir and Duke Francis were loyal to the crown. However, the foreign Count and Countess were less forthwright with their position of loyalty, and would need some convincing. Duke Elijah and his wife, Bartholomew noted, “were sickly-sweet to him”, and he sensed that perhaps they had a hand in the plot. As a reward for Lord Bartholomew’s service, Henry allowed his son Geoffrey to become a knight in his service, knighting him the Sir Geoffrey of Cartwright. He was put under the tutelage of John Spencer.

Court Jester: Renato Konstantin "The Amazing Ren" Macario (27)
Cook: Verena Amika "Amy" Macario (21)
-S: Neven Dragomir Macario (1)
-S: Aksel Konrad Macario (0)
(I somehow managed to miss the part where my couple ended up jailed for suspected treason during last round, so I'll just add it in here.)
The Macario's incarceration was brief, comfortable, and relatively untraumatic. Barely a week passed before Ren and Amy were set free with the court's apologies. Ren took the experience in stride; it was hardly the first time he'd been locked up (his slights of hand were so impressive that they'd been mistaken for witchcraft on several occasions during the travels of his youth, and he also had an unfortunate tendency to poke fun at people who possessed a lot of power but no sense of humor). Amy hated being away from Neven and felt hurt and betrayed that the king had suspected her at all. But she did her best to forgive him. Holding grudges had turned her grandmother into a bitter person, and Amy didn't want that for herself. Besides, King Henry meant well.
Life continued on in the kingdom. Amy breathed a lot easier once Lord Bartholomew hired food tasters for the royal family. Ren tried to teach his son how to juggle. Neven was more interested in chewing the balls, though he did enjoy having his daddy make silly faces at him. The boy was easily one of the biggest of his age in the kingdom, and Sir Spencer had remarked that the lad might make a fine knight someday.
Amy and Jocelyn both found themselves pregnant at the same time again, but while Amy gave birth to another large, hearty boy, Jocelyn's own son was small and sickly and died after three months. Jocelyn was devastated and seemed resentful of Amy's healthy children. Amy gave her friend some space to grieve and hoped that they could move past the loss.
The newest prince also wasn't long for the world, expiring after just six short days. There were rumors that the infant had been assassinated with poisoned milk, but the suspicions were never confirmed.

Baron: George Thomas FitzGilbert, 3rd Baron FitzGilbert (34)
Lady: Jane nee Greytonne (17)
Lord: Luke Francis (1)
Lord: Joscelin George (nb)
Slightly over a year has passed since the crowning of King Henry. As was expected the young Royal family had got to the business of running Angleterra, but for some reason, that was completely foreign to George, there continued to be mutterings of the most foul kind, of murder & rebellion.
George, however, knew that he could only take the course of action that the LORD our God put forth to him. So he took to studying his bible and on the morning of a planned visit by Lord Bartholomew he came across his bit of scripture in the Book of Proverbs...
" An evil man is bent only on rebellion; a merciless official will be sent against him.
George took this as a sign that the people trying to rebel against the King were evil and that only a merciless offical could be used to counter their attempts a treachery. Upon Bartholomew's arrival George made his pronouncement, which the Lord Cartwright seemed to not take too seriously... George suspected that maybe Cartwright was involved, seeing who supported the King as to punish them after the fact.
George felt he needed to go into seclusion for a short while to contemplate the fate of this course of events. He bid his pregnant wife, Jane and their son Luke, farewell and promised to return in time for the christening of their new child.
Now for Lady Jane, George going away wasn't anything new, in fact event when he was around George seemed to be distant, caught up in his devotions to the LORD more than his role of being a noble, husband or father.
Jane had started to grow tired of her pious husband's ways soon after Luke was born. She felt he wasted a large amount of their wealth in build Sir John Spencer a new home just to secure godparents for Luke. She began to spend more time at feast and festivals, much to her husband's dismay thought he dare not say anything out of love for her.

Sorry about that!
It's dead at three months, yes. mos is a common English abbreviation for months. I sometimes forget that there are people that aren't native English speakers.
Sorry! :-D

Duke: Bronimir Alvey (6th Duke of Elestra) [25]
Duchess: Melisende "Melly" Alvey [21]
-S: Isaac Cristóbal Alvey [1]
-S: Edward James Alvey (stillborn)

When news that his wife, the Lady Melisende, was pregnant yet again, Bronomir was overjoyed. Him and Melisende would spend hours talking to eachother about possibilities for their newest child. It made Bronomir so happy that, for the first time in over a year, he forgot about his paranoia and actually began to get a rather friendly demeanor.
There was a banquet later that week, and Duke Bronomir talked to his wife about actually going this time. Bronomir and Melisende would normally never go to the banquets, due to her husband's paranoia, so she was surprised when Bronomir asked whether or not she would join him. She refused, however, so Bronomir went alone. It was much less high-energy than it was the banquet where the King was coronated, especially since the Amazing Ren had been arrested, so he decided to take over the job. He would try his best to raise everyone's spirits and make them laugh. He had a glass or two of wine and ale with a group of people, then sat down and began to eat his food, which was already cold and hard from the wait. That is when he met Lady Jane, wife of Baron FitzGilbert. He was stunned by her beauty and proposed a toast to the young maiden. They drank wine and ale until the both of them were drunk, and let their guards down and passions fly...
When Bronomir reached home and became sane again, he realized what he had done and grieved.
Many months later, when it was almost about time for Melisende to have her baby, Lord Bartholomew visited them. After talking to eachother a bit over a cup of tea, Bartholomew informed him that he was on a mission for the King, discerning which of the royal person were members of the rebellion. Bronomir was a bit upset that the King would suspect him, and made his point perfectly clear that he was with The King... to the death. Bronomir did, however, voice his ever-growing concern that Duke Elijah and his wife, Adina, were a part of the plot to overthrow the King.

Zephaniah and Matilda were overjoyed when their mother presented them with their baby sister Hosanna. At first Hosanna's name was going to be Marian, but Zephaniah and Matilda were shouting "Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" Elissa decided that Hallelujah, though not a traditional name or even a name at that, would be the perfect name for her little daughter. Halley was joyful from the moment she was born.
Roland is not shy at all. He continues to have fun with Ariel and Peninnah. They are great friends. Nothing can keep them apart when they want to be together, not even their parents. Elissa is getting a little fed up with Roland since he's always running off to play with Ariel and Peninnah.
Darius still refuses to play with Ariel and Peninnah. Roland doesn't mind this, because it means he gets them all to himself. Darius and Miriam are wonderful friends. Miriam confides her secrets to Darius, and Darius confides his to her. Darius allows his parents to go unknowing about the conspiracy, though he knows it's wrong.
Elissa and Hiram are glad that they had a healthy, joyful baby girl.

Earl: Lord Bartholomew Thomas Xavier of Cartwright (48)
-D/S: Lady Guinevere Beatrix Christiana/Lord Geoffrey Richard Francis (18)
Upon a routine visit to the castle, Lord Bartholomew is intensely troubled when Amy approaches him in the hallway, worriedly telling him her suspicions about the poisioning attempts on the royal family's life. Bartholomew assures her that her worries will be taken very seriously, gives her two pennies as a reward, and tells the King. He assures him that he will travel amongst the landed nobility to rally for their support, while he trusted that Henry would gauge his palace staff. Bartholomew also makes sure to appoint three food tasters for the King, Queen, and Prince, wondering vaguely why the king hadn't done it himself.
Though sworn to allegiance to King Henry, Bartholomew was deeply conflicted--though Henry had all of his father's looks and daring, he was immensely arrogant and didn't seem to posses the patience or inner stoicism that had made his father such an effective ruler. He wasn't sure that it wouldn't be a good idea to have someone else rule. However, a promise was a promise, especially to a dying friend, and Bartholomew starts his campaign.
He makes sure to visit all of the landed nobility, and considers it a success: the Baron FitzGilbert especially assured his lifelong allegiance to the King with a lengthy and unintentionally hilarious sermon, and Bartholomew could easily see that that Barons Hiram and Bronomir and Duke Francis would not need convincing to remain on the side of the rightful King. The foreign Count and Countess, he surmised, were much more shrewd and would need some convincing. His last stop was to the estate of Duke Elijah, to which he brought his two children, knowing that they were fond of their children. The Duke and Duchess were sickly-sweet to him, but he could tell that there was something wrong. He made a note to inform the King, and quickly took Guinevere and Geoffrey back to Cartwright Castle. While he informed the King of this news, he requested that the King allow his son Geoffrey to become a knight in his service.
