For a few months after they got married, the Pourchets tried unsuccesfully to get pregnant. Unfortunately, Nicolette was pronounced infertile by her doctor. The couple was heartbroken until Alexandres father reminded them that they could still adopt. The adoption agency gave them three options, and they chose the youngest, a pair of three-year-old twins from Iran. The Pourchets decided to keep their first names as their middle names and give them French first names.
