The terrorists made another attempt on the lives of the new imperial family, somehow managing to poison Tabitha with a dangerous toxin. She almost lost her life but managed to pull through after weeks of bedrest. Gareth spent much of that time at his wife's side, and the two grew much closer.
Only a few months after Tabby was deemed healthy, she appeared to be relapsing, throwing up after every meal and feeling weak and faint. The emperor was distraught and once again called for the best doctors to attend to his wife. Gareth was shocked but elated to hear that Tabby wasn't sick, just pregnant.
Gareth Calloway Isidore IV was born healthy and strong, named after his father but called Prince Cal. The people of Trillium were happy to have an heir and were really starting to adore the whole imperial family. Gareth, despite his wild youth, was proving himself to be a strong and capable ruler.
