In the Kingdom of Caraneth
After a week of national celebrating, including a national holiday for all farmers and workers, the mood suddenly became very solemn. Everyone had been expecting a great dynasty and a fresh start with the new Emporer, who seemed so much more fresh and exciting compared to the last few rulers and their expected new king. Their hearts and minds had been won by their beatiful young Empress, who wore stunning dresses and even spoke their language, wishing them well from her balcony. She suddenly disappeared and in court Frederick appeared gaunt and restless. In his apparent despair he passed some unpopular laws over the coming weeks, rumoured to be triggered from his bride's illness.
As the weeks past, the Emporer lashed out and then stopped from appearing in court all together, leaving his counsellor to take control for a while. He announced to his people his blessed bride appeared to be dying. He told his counsellors it was paramount to find a new and healthier bride, for if he could produce no heir then his brother, a man very much orientated towards pesonal gain and war alone, would take the throne at the first opportunity. Frederick secretly began plans to find a new bride, but reluctantly so. He was always taught love had nothing to do with being an Emporer, but he had grown fond of Margaret and tended to her when he could.
Frederick was euphoric when he discovered that Margaret was pregnant and not as painfully ill as previously thought. He announced this immediately to the people who rejoiced, for they too knew the dangers of their new Kings brother. They hoped for a strong baby with the charm and wit of both parents.
Margaret found her pregnancy hard, and missed home. She requested her husband to let her sisters visit and sit with her for the final months of her pregnancy, and he let her do so, as she could not leave her chambers. The baby was named Isabella Federica Margaret Genevieve, after Margaret, Federick and her two sisters present at the birth of their heir. Frederick announced her formally as the heir to the Empire that very day, and another public holiday was announced. The subjects still did not forget they were going through a drought however and are slowly growing imparient with their Emporer for seemingly doing little about it, and did not fully enjoy the celebrations. They suddenly seem frustrated as their feelings are being rallied by a group of farmers who proclaim loudly that their Emporer cares more for his 'foreign bride', parties and his baby than his starving his starving people.
