When the time came for Cornelius and Fairuza to finally meet and marry, they were both nervous and excited. After years of exchanging regular letters, the two considered themselves good friends and hoped that the transition to more would be smooth. There was really nothing to worry about though; like his brother, Cornelius was lucky enough to fall in love at first sight, and Fairuza was charmed by young man's obvious intelligence and mesmerizing blue eyes.
The wedding was huge and quite lovely, but the twins, happy to have been reunited after yet another prolonged separation, overindulged a bit on the spirits. It was all in good fun, but Noam did end up mostly carrying a very affection Magda back to their room. A few weeks later, when Magda discovered that she was pregnant, she blamed Cornelius entirely and made sure he knew as much.
She was a happy drunk but not a happy pregnant lady, complaining and moping that she couldn't be nearly as active as she was used to, that she felt sick and that the kid was kicking her to hell from the inside. Noam, however, was absolutely thrilled and bravely stuck out every rant and mood swing and was rewarded with a beautiful son, Prince Demetrius Elias Philo Anatole Antwan. (Noam felt a bit bad that Cornelius was getting such a hard time from Magda so slipped one of his brother-in-law's names in.)
Lucian and his family had taken a break from their travels to stay in Qelan (mostly because he was the only person his sister would tolerate some days, especially toward the end when she was looking and feeling like a killer whale). Ariadne was growing into a gorgeous little girl and was enamored with her baby cousin. She told anyone who would listen that she and Metri were going to be best friends, just like Daddy and Auntie Magda. She pouted for days when her bemused mother explained that they could never be twins though.
Scandal errupted shortly after when Ludo was discovered visiting Vina in secret in the woods. Both claimed that the meetings were purely innocent, but that didn't stop people from besmirching the youngest princess's reputation. The family was disappointed but had little recourse aside from public statements. In order to prevent anymore damage, chaperones were hired for both Isadora and Vina. The king and queen hated that they felt like they couldn't trust one of their children, and that they had to penalize another so unfairly.
Isadora really resented her sister for being so foolish, and she especially resented being punished for such behavior. Her only solace was that her own wedding would be next. And hopefully soon. Jourdain was currently abroad with a prestigious orchestra group, and Isadora missed him terribly.
