Continue the Story Congrats Sign Up
Since my variety congrats sort of fell flat over the spring break weeks, I've decided to put that idea on hold for a while and try a new theme. I've always been the kind of person who wants to know what happens after the end of a story, and I decided to make a congrats game about it--a sort of after-the-happily-ever-after. I'm starting out very simply with fairytales. If this ggame goes well and people like it, I'll do others with things like famous novels and short stories and movies. So, to begin...Step one: choose a fairytale or folktale of your liking. These can include the familiar ones like Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, but you can choose a story from any culture as long as it is traditional, the main characters marry, and you provide me a short synopsis of the story if it isn't one most people are familiar with. A good website to get started is http://surlalunefairytales.com/, which have a lot of Grimm and Anderson fairytales, including many obscure ones. If you have another site that could be helpful please share, putting Helpful Link Included in the subject line of your sign-up.
Step two: If your characters don't have names in the story, or if you don't like the names they have, give them names that reflect the culture and tone of the story. If a story, like Cinderella, crosses cultures, you can choose whichever version you like best.
Step three: give us the background of the characters, either a brief synopsis of the story or, if it's something very familiar (i.e. if Disney has made a movie of it) then you can just tell us what has happened since the story left off.Note: you must go by the traditional version of the story, NOT the Disney version. No talking mice if you choose Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid is out since in the end of the real story she dies. 1. If you miss more than three rounds period you will be dropped. You do not have to make up missed rounds, but you do not get the children for the missed round. This is especially important for this game to keep the timeline flowing.
2. Make sure you keep your fairytale or folktale listed before your family so I can keep up with who is doing what story.
3. Please bold new additions. This can be done by using < b > name here < /b > without the spaces.
4. Ages are required.
5. IMPORTANT to note that the point of this congrats is to continue the story, and you are required to write at least a short paragraph about your family each round. If you don't like writing the blurbs, then this may not be the game for you.So, without further ado...Sign-up formUN:
