Alessandra Maria - 15
Alessandra was put into the agency after it was discovered that her step-father both sexually and physically abused her. She often wakes up in the middle of the night with nightmares of her step-father. She is from Cancun, but speaks both Spanish and English because when she was 5, she moved to California. She stayed there until she was 14 She was then transferred into our Bombay agency. While in California, she became a member of her school's color guard team and a great interest of reading grew on her. She loves helping out with smaller children and has decided that when she grows up she wants to be a kindergarten teacher.

It's been 2 and a half years now since Alessandra came to live with us and we are completely in love with our new daughter. Sandra is a wonderful girl who is very smart, dependable, helpful and very friendly once she gets to know you. She has a bit of a trust issues but that's understandable as seeing what she went through. her nightmares have almost completely stopped but unfortunately she gets the odd one every few months.
We've moved twice since she came and now we currently reside in New Zealand where my husband has been hired for a job. Sandra seems to be doing well with all our traveling and seems to enjoy it as much as we do. She has grown into a mature, responsible, beautiful young woman who I'm very proud to call a daughter.
