Welcome to Round four of the Royal Congrats. Each of you now has a Royal family in progress, Royal House, and Kingdom. Unless you specify a daughter as Crown Princess, I will assume that you will name your first-born son King.

Writing Prompt
Well, it is a year later, and the plague finally seems to have disappeared. Unfortunately, the King and your 3 year-old Princess were some of the last victims. The Crown Prince(ss) has been crowned, and the Queen Mother (former Queen) and the King’s most trusted advisor have been named as co-regents. The Queen Mother and the other co-regent do not quite agree on what the new King (Queen) should be doing, as they both have different perspectives of the person. However, they both do agree that a strong marriage is needed to help the Kingdom regain some composure and align some new support.
The people of your Kingdom are worried. Do they blame the plague on the anger of the gods? A great and evil magician? A neighboring nation wanting to invade?
How is the new King (Queen) taking to their roll? Do they feel ready? Too young? Overwhelmed? Do they want to hand the task off to somebody else?
What does the new King (Queen) think about being engaged to be married? Do the like the person? Admire them? Hate them?

To say that Queen Elizabeth Victoria was devestated to loss her youngest daughter and the love of her life was an understand. The plague was caught by Emmalyn suddenly, and she had no idea she had it. Sudden both King and daughter were sick, coming down with one of the worst plagues in Pagoda history, a very, very lengthy history. The King, in his last hours, told his doctor to write down that he would want his eldest, Princess Virginia, to become Queen. He must have known that his time was limited. The King signed the document as proof for all. After all, the King had been teaching his daughter about everything in Pagoda. He was sure she was up to the job. Much more so then Prince Tristan. Queen Elizabeth Victoria vowed that she would help her young daughter any way she could. And one of the first things she did was find young Queen Virginia the perfect suiter. Or, line up who she thought was the perfect suiter and have Virginia pick. It took Virginia many months, but she was quite attached to one suiter in general. Archduke Edward Henry Michael James II. Elizabeth Victoria was extremely happy that the pair seem to like each other well. That was all that mattered, other than his title, right?

Amazingly, the fiery plague seemed to wind down after the birth of Undine and Kamala. It went from striking 1 in 50 to 1 in 100 in that month. The next month, it was down to 1 in 200 people. Six months later, it was only striking every 1 in 500 people, when King Jasper became sick.
The whole family, the whole Kingdom, was in a panic. Everybody was so focused on King Jasper that no one noticed that the little Princess Reny was quietly limping around or lying on cushions near her father. At the end of the first week, the King was still breathing. In fact, he was doing better then most who had only been sick for only two days.
It was then that Queen Rosabla was called away because a stranger who said he was a priest wished to speak with her. Snapping, Queen Rosabla demanded to know why she was disturbed with this when her husband was sick. The servant replied that it was the same little hunchback that told her what to name the twins. Gasping in surprise, Queen Rosabla caught her husband's eyes and then moved off to follow the servant.
King Jasper was then alone for the first time the whole week. Sighing, he swung his legs over the side of the bed, determined to get one last glimpse outside before he was too weak to do so. On weak legs, he slowly trudged to the bay window. Ready to collapse, he looked down and saw that the little Princess Reny was curled up in a corner. Sliding to a seat on the other side, King Jasper reached out to move a strand of Reny's hair back. As his fingers slid across her forehead, he felt fire under his touch.

Hmm, Queen Belantha is not very happy...
Aww... poor King Gwillim and Princess Blandine! Shame...
Queen Belantha the Amarathine, took to her King's and daughter's death quite badly. She wears only maroon (the color of mourning in Caranenth) and seems to have aged more in the past few weeks than she has in the past 10 years. She is now no longer called "Belantha the Amaranthine" but "secretly" addressed by the populace as "The Maroon Queen" or "The Queen of Sorrows".
As for the Child Queen, everybody regards her with a certain cautious underlying respect, or maybe its fear. The people in Terra still live in fear of the plaque returning. Even though the king sent all of his children away little Savnnah still got ill and died. The kind was mortified when she got sick. He sat by her bed for three days (from the time he found out till she died). But Alas he got sick too and died leaving his son Prince Drew as the new king! Imediatley afterwards Queen Mother Sarah found a young bride for her son. Princess Leah is from the kingdom of Gentian. She and young Drew had been friends and were living together during the plaque. The Queen Mother and her son are pleased but the public is unsure. The king and queen are only children. Too young to act upon their duties. But Sarah tells the public not too worry because until the king turns 12 she is still in charge. And if something, god forbid, happens to her she plans on leaving the throne to Josie and Thea, until King Drew is old enough to rule. If it hasn't been mentioned before than I'll tell you that the new King and Queen are not in love, but they are best of friends.

The plague is nearly gone completely. I have appointed a new General. Lord Ellar's second son, Elric, will take the place of General Andor. He has been a good friend of the late General Andor and I know Andor thought him the ways of battle too. He has had plenty of experience in leading men into battle and has been on the war council for several years. I am sure that General Elric will do very well.
I feel tired all the time. I usually don't sleep much, but now it is starting to cause me fatigue and headaches. My Sally says I should confer with our Healer and maybe get a potion to ease the headaches. She says little Sally also complained of headaches and doesn't want to eat anymore. I am worried about her. After losing my third son, I cannot afford to loose another child, and I don't think my Sally would take it too well either.
Awful change in events! Poor Mordecai!

One orbit has completed since the death of my father and a great King. The plague swept across our lands killing many, but there are none I grieve for more than my dear father, and my sweet sister Angelique. I find comfort in the thought that they may find comfort in each other's prescence in the afterlife. Angelique held a special place in Father's heart from the day of her birth, she was so fair and had such a good nature. She truly would have become a sight to behold in time, and would no doubt have been the darling of our kingdom.
I find myself having to take his place as ruler of Caranenth, but at a loss to best rule my people when I am barely a man myself. I was raised for this responsibility and my loyalty will always be to my people above myself, but I can not help but mourn the loss of my childhood so prematurely. All I can hope for is a time of peace while I continue my lessons with my co-regents so that I may be prepared for the time when trials will come, as they no doubt will. I prey that these may be far into the future as failing my title, my family, and my people would be a fate worse than death.
One of the first tasks I must take upon myself as King is to raise the moral of my people. There has been so much death, and the people are hurting. I plan to arrange a day of mourning to commemmerate the passed, and a festival to follow this to celebrate their lives, and the lives of those who survived.

After the plague claimed both the lives of King Itzal and his daughter Infanta Linnet, the young Crown Prince Infante Pau was immediately crowned king, with his Queen Mother Mirelle and the former king's advisor, Sir Rodney, as co-regents. The nine-year-old was crowned King Pau I, dubbed "The Boy King" by his people.
Pau was very deeply burdened by his new and sudden position. He felt a great pressure on his shoulders to become a king as his father was, and as a result fell into a deep illness. For a while, the entire nation panicked as they contemplated the risk of his contacting the plague and who will reign in his stead. If King Pau were to die, his brother Infante Iskandar will have to reign.
Fortunately enough, King Pau recovered from his bout of malaise and returned to his office as soon as he could. He took his responsibility gravely and seriously, with help from his Queen Mother and "Sir Rory". They suggested that he become betrothed as soon as possible. Although King Pau was at first frightened with the idea, he soon agreed to comply, and was quickly betrothed to the princess of a neighbouring country, the beautiful Princess Graziella. However, as the tradition of Legato holds, both future spouses must never meet until the day of their marriage.
