Prince Dante died in a hunting accident. Queen Millesainte has gone into seclusion and did not appear at any of the family weddings or christenings. King Hadrian is distraught, and concerned for his queen. But he delights in all the little ones, and is hosting many parties and balls to surround himself with the happiness of his subjects. The queen’s ladies in waiting are doing their best, but her health is failing under the onslaught of her grief. Prince Reynaud spends much of his time with the Crown Prince’s family at their country castle.
