It is 1920.
The Lindgrens have been busy in the past five years. Erik and Andy have been working hard to keep up with the demand for furniture and other carved goods. Lindgren's Furniture has been a big success in the area. Even Johan and Jorgen help out sometimes when there are a lot of orders to fill. Karin went to nursing school in 1917, when she became eligible, and graduated in 1919. She now lives in Pittsburgh, PA with some friends from nursing school. In a few years, she hopes to move back to Oregon, but wants some experience first. Rike met an accountant named Matthew Wells when she was fifteen. She and Matthew married in 1919 and despite their age difference, are perfect for each other. Andy is planning on working in the family business and hopes to go to California and open another Lindgren's store there. Johan, Jorgen, and Sven are growing up fast. They like spending time with their friends. Sven has discovered an interest in music that he never knew he had. He does quite well on both the piano and the fiddle. Freja is ten now. She likes flowers, just like her older sister Rike. Kristin and Elina are little mischief-makers. They like practical jokes and often behave more like twins than like sisters. The kids all keep Ylva on her toes, and Ylva enjoys taking care of her children.

Another five years, and four more children! Little Oscar was born in 1916, two years after William's birth. Then a couple of month's later Victoria found herself pregnant again. Ut turned out to be a girl, Leona.
Another two years later the couple's last children were born, their second pair of twins; Alex and Michael.
The war ended two years ago. We are happy for it and we feel safe again. However our oldest son Johan is a bit weird, he didn't want it to end so 'soon' after he turned 18. He wanted to fight, but didn't have the chance. We are happy to have him with us.
