Rose met Felix on the boat from New York to England. It was a love-at-first-sight meeting. Felix, the only child of a wealthy couple, altered his travel plans to "show" Rose and Hazel the sights of France. While in Paris one night, they met Teddy at a cafe. Hazel and Teddy started talking literature and books almost immediately. The next day, the party went to visit the Louvre. After writing to all parents involved, and gaining consent, the 2 couples were married in a small chapel on a hill. It was a dual wedding, on September 22, 1915.Both couples decide to move back to Salem.Felix' parent's give him and Rose enough of an income to support them in town. Rose goes back to writing, while Felix opens a branch of the family's business (shipping) in Salem. Soon after settling, they were pregnant with their first son! He was named Cosmo to honor Rose's family, and Eugene after Felix' father.Teddy's family is actually from farm in Northern Idaho, so they will be able to see his family quite regularly. Teddy is the oldest of a brood of 8 children. They bought a small farm near the Cosmos dairy farm.Florence moved to Salem in 1921. Oliver almost immediately fell for her. Florence, however, made him work to prove his love. They were finally married on April 20th, 1923 (so that Oliver would always be able to remember both her birthday and their anniversary!)Boy oh boy, was everybody surprised when Rose, Hazel, and Florence all ended up pregnant at the same time. Gerty was sure that she had the flu. However, after a few months, her name was added to the list of expectant mothers! Even more surprising, all 5 of the children were born within 2 weeks of each other!Margaret and Josephine are after Felix' aunts, while Joy and Mirth are to honor Rose's mother.Pascal is to honor his parents first meeting in Paris, and Benjamin is after Teddy's father's name.Thomas was a name that Florence picked out, while they used Sebastian to carry on the family tradition.Sarah was because they felt this latest addition would be their little princess, and Psyche to carry on the theme started with Eros.Humphrey and Gerty are most definitely done having children! Gilbert and Abigail are thrilled to see their grandchildren and great-grandchildren! Everything seems good at the moment...
