Samir is a Christian Lebanese immigrant to Brazil, while Honorata is Brazilian-born. They came from very different cultures, so at first their parents were reluctant to let them marry. But they successfully convinced them otherwise. Less than a year after the wedding, they had a son. They gave him a Portuguese FN and an Arabic MN to honor both sides of his family.
