After all, the family was settled there, and both Bobby and Julia were courting. Bobby, 20, is courting a young girl whose family moved to Decatur when she was fifteen. She is two years younger than Bobby, but the pair seems to get along well. Julia too is courting. Her beau is local farmer. Lisbeth is a little disappointed that she didn't want to marry higher up on the social ladder, but Julia's beau is a nice young man from a good, moral family. The other kids are growing up too. She enjoys being outside and is especially fond of the new flower garden Robert put in last year.

Oliver and Hazel have welcomed their last daughter, Ruby. Hazel feels she can no long bear children, and the local doctors have told her it may cost her her life if she has further offspring. They have now settled into having grandchildren, with their eldest son, Fredrick, marrying in 1916 to Laura. After a year of marriage, they welcomed twin girls (Evelyn and Virginia), in 1918. A year later in 1919, they welcomed their second set of twin girls, Irene and Elenor. Unfortunately, Laura passed away in childbirth. Samuel and David also married, with Samuel recently giving birth to his first son, Earl. Clarence, George and Marie are set to marry soon.
(Round 4 Scenario – 1915)
Oliver and Hazel have been continuing with life as usual. Thomas was born 3 years after the twins, and Lucille born 3 years subsequent to that. News travelled of a war and a ship sinking, both killing hundreds of people. Luckily Oliver and Hazel were no where near neither events.
(Round 3 Scenario – 1910)
Oliver and Hazel welcomed their first daughter, Marie, 3 years after the birth of their previous set of twin boys. 2 years later, they welcomed yet *another* set of twin boys, Will and Arthur. Their lives are hectic, but they manage, and in fact are enjoying their years with their young children. Luck was once again on their side when a Typhoid epidemic spread across the small town, and all their children survived. They thanked God that their strong blood was passed to their children; meanwhile, they mourned the loss of many people in the town.

Ben's best friend, Neil Sherman, wife died in child birth several years ago. Neil was a big help to Catherine with raising Laura. In 1919 they married. One year later they gave birth to twin girls, Anna Lillian and Ruby Florence.
Neil had three children of his own. Levi is the oldest at age 21. Malcolm is 18 and Addie the only girl is 17. Levi is married to Georgina (age 20) and they have a two year old daughter, Daphne Juliet.
Harry married Sylvia Ellsworth two years ago. Last year they had their first chil a boy. They decided to name he Benjamin Frederick after, Harry's dad.

It's been five years and a lot has happened in our family. First of all William told us that he had a girlfriend, Emma. Three months later he told us that he was getting married next month. We asked why he had such a hurry to getting married and he then told us that it was because Emma was pregnant. We were happy for them but we were also quite scared. I was going to be a grandmother!
In July their son was born. They named him Arvin. Sadly Arvin passed a way a couple of days later. We were all shocked and sad. However William and Emma is doing okey. I guess we all knew that it could happen. After all, Benjamin and I lost one of our children not long ago.
Back to me and Ben. In 1916 we welcomed a beutiful daughter! We were so happy to have her with us, and of course, we still are happy! Anna, as we named her, is our little sunshine and joy in live.
We were so happy to have her that we soon after wanted another chiLd which we got in October 1918. We had another princess, Esther. Our little angel were only with us for a day before she leaved us. We didn't thought live could go on after something like that, but it did. We kept on living for our other childrens sake. Only a couple of months later I had to tell Benjamin that I was pregnant yet again. We were afraid that we would lose this baby too. Our baby, who turned out to be a boy, is now six months old. He is such a happy little baby and we are overjoyed to have Arthur in our lives.

The past five years have seen the Sutherland family deal with many highs and lows. On his 16th birthday James had signed up to the army and was sent straight to the front line, during this time the family didn't hear from him at all and feared the worst. Luckily James survived and came home in one piece, the same could not be said for Catherine's brothers... Malcolm didn't make it and John lost both his legs in the war, leaving her family devastated.
There was also good news however as both Margaret Rose and James were married before 1920. Sending Margaret Rose to Edinburgh to better herself certainly worked as she met there a travelling Lord from England by the name of Humphrey Trumpington-Bonnet who found the young woman enchanting. They wed four months later (1919) and he whisked her away to his family's estate on the outskirts of London. There she soon gave birth to a daughter, Georgiana Marion. Margaret Rose writes home frequently and comes north as often as she can. James meanwhile took the quickie wedding to a whole new level when he wed Aileen Clarke, the daughter of his dad's boss, after a week of meeting her. Catherine thinks the war turned his brain to mush, but wishes them every happiness. James and Aileen and now expecting their first child together.
Agatha and Elizabeth can't wait for their mother to send them to Edinburgh, and hope they will have half the luck of Margaret Rose in finding a suitor like Humphrey! Robert is too young still to really understand what's going on (to him girls are still yucky) and he spends his time looking out for little John, despite their age difference they are really close.

In April 1917, the United States declared war on Germany, and the Northam boys were ecstatic. Jack enlisted in the Army on his 17th birthday and spent the next three months at basic training. When he returned in October, he married his high school sweetheart, Caroline. Unfortunately, the newlyweds only had two months to spend together, because Jack shipped out to France in December. He left three days after finding out he was going to be a father. Leo Northam was born two weeks before Jack's 18th birthday, while his father was thousands of miles away.
James looked on with envy as his brother fought in Europe. When he turned 17 he enlisted in the Army as well, but he'd only been at basic training for less than a month when the armistice was announced on November 11. The war was over. It was a time for celebration, but James couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed that he hadn't seen any action.
Jack came home in December 1918, and he was dramatically and noticeably different. He seemed much older than his 18 years. His son was already five months old, and Jack quickly started making up for lost time. He became a partner in his father's business, and he and his family were able to move into their own home. In a strange twist of fate, Caroline gave birth to the couple's second child, a girl whom they named Stella (after Jack's deceased sister), on November 11, 1919.
In contrast to his war-hungry and war-weary older brothers, David was considerably more quiet and soft-spoken. He was a prolific reader; his bedroom was a veritable library. Joseph and Grace were convinced that he would become an author someday. Showing no indication of wanting to get involved in the shipping business, he applied and was accepted to Harvard, which made Joseph very proud.

We named him Gabriel Malachi --Gabriel after Eva's father and Malachi because it means "my angel". It has been a hard five years for the Hamiltons. The five years started out good with the last of the Hamiltons kids who Ruth named Carl. However, for awhile Carl's birth was the only good thing.
In 1917 the United States went to war and once Will turned 18 he enlisted to fight. It was a hard time for him, but luckily the war ended not long after he went to Europe and he made it out alive.
However, back home in America Ruth caught the Spanish Influenze and got very sick. After awhile of suffering she passed away leaving her kids and her husband behind. Some of the kids also got the Spanish flu, but their cases were much less sever and they ended up surviving. The whole family is devestated by Ruth's death.
On a brighter note there were three marriages in 1919. Will married Clara, a girl who he been close to for his whole life, in late January. In April Rose married a man a Jewish man from the nearby town. William was not happy about this at first, especially when Rose coverted, but he is trying to get used to get because he doesn't want to lose his daughter like his lost his wife. In August Henry married a girl named Sarah.

During the war, there was an outbreak of influenza. Everyone caught it. Luckily, most of them lived, but Nathan didn't recover and died.
Cecilia went to Europe with her two oldest daughters to work as a nurse. Eventually, In Poland, they found Florian, an orphaned boy. Florian's mother died giving birth to him, and his father was murdered. Cecilia took him home with them.
Soon after the war, Chloe fell in love with a veteran. They married a few months later. In 1920, she gave birth to a son, Henry Jack. At 36, Cecilia felt she was too young to be a grandmother, but she dealt with it.
When Chloe and Lucille came home one day wearing much shorter skirts than what was worn in the past, their parents were scandalized. They were told to cover up. Eventually, all the women in the family got used to it and stopped wearing floor-length dresses.
As for the alcohol ban, the family didn't drink, except for Walter, who drank once in a blue moon.
