Rachel Shaina's Keep Up Yourself Congrats Sign Up + Round 1
My Sims is broken, so I decided to start a congrats to keep myself occupied.
It’ll be a timeline sort of congrats. I’m starting in 1900, and each round will be 5 years. You can do whatever you want, basically. I’ll explain more as we go along.
This round it’s 1900. Make up a couple (name them whatever you want). If you need ideas, here’s the top 1000 for that year: http://www.weddingvendors.com/baby-names/popular/
Then, you have a child. You can either pick the gender yourself, or flip a coin (heads is a boy, tails is a girl). Again, name it whatever you want. You can use the provided link for help.
So it should look like this:
Surname:
DH: (age)
DW: (age)
DS or DD:
It might be fun to write a story with your family, but it's not required. I'll have special events later for people who want to write.

Surname: Northam
DH: Joseph William (20)
DW: Grace Elizabeth (18)
DS: Jack William (b. 1900)
Joseph, son of Charles and Margaret Northam, comes from a long line of "old money", stretching as far back as medieval English nobility. His grandfather, after having emigrated from England in 1847 and settling in Boston, made his fortune in the shipping and maritime trade industry. As the oldest of five, and with his father already deceased, Joseph stands to inherit most of his grandfather's empire within a few years.
Grace, daughter of Henry and Anne Chamberlain, is related by marriage to the illustrious Crowninshields, and though her family not counted among the Boston Brahmin, the mere link has had its influence. Her father was a powerful and successful attorney and had been considering running for Congress until deteriorating health sidelined his political plans. Her mother was the daughter of a distinguished Navy admiral and had inherited a vast estate from her entrepreneur grandfather. Needless to say, Grace's family was more than well-off.
Both Joseph and Grace were introduced to the high-class social life of Boston at a young age and socialized with the elites on a regular basis. They met at an art gallery opening in 1898, when Joseph was 18 and Grace was 16. Their connection was instantaneous, and a mere four months after their initial meeting, Joseph asked Grace's father for permission to marry her. Both parties agreed that it was indeed a smart match, and the couple were wed later that year.
In 1900, Grace gave birth to their first child, a boy whom they named Jack in honor of Joseph's grandfather. Like any proud parents, Joseph and Grace wasted no time in showing off their son to family and friends.

It is 1900. Robert and Lisbeth are among the wealthy upper class of American society. Robert's father built an empire for himself by opening a variety store, then investing wisely in new inventions--such as electricity, horseless carriages, the telephone, and trains. Lisbeth's family is of the "old blood" (wealthy families who have lived in the same area for decades). She is the only daughter of Stephen and Julia Astor, of Philadelphia. Robert's family also chose to make their home in Philadelphia. Robert and Lisbeth met at a party hosted by Lisbeth's parents. They found that they could talk together easily, and both were excellent dancers. Lisbeth's parents advised her against marrying someone so newly come into fortune, but Lisbeth ignored them. She and Robert were wed in 1899 in a lavish ceremony attended by over 400 people--friends, family, friends-of-friends, and unknown family members all came.
Robert and Lisbeth moved into a small mansion at the edge of Philadelphia's more wealthy neighborhoods.
