Ok, this might seem weird, but the first thing we are going to choose is the MIDDLE name. Not the first name. You’ll understand why later. But even after you choose the middle name, still keep track of the original name that is next to your child(ren).
Go to
http://www.nymbler.com/ and enter the name that is currently next to your child(ren) as the inspiration. If you have multiples, do this once per name. The middle name will be a choice between the first 3 pages of names inspired by the name you put in.
Ok, back to the first name. :)
Take the name(s) that I gave you. (If you hate it, do not worry, we are going to be doing a lot of changing to it.) Do this one at a time if you have multiples.
Step 1: Switch the name with any name in the database with the same number of letters.
Step 2: Switch that name with a name that starts with the last letter of the old name.
Step 3: Switch that name with a name with one of the same “usages” of the old name (like Italian, English, etc.)
Step 4: Switch that name with a name that has an opposite meaning to the old name.
Step 5: Switch that name with a name that has a similar popularity to the old name in 2007. (Off the charts, in the top 100, in the top 500, etc.)
I’ll do mine to show you. The name I was given was Riley on a girl. So I go to Nymbler and input Riley. My favorite name out of the names on the first 3 pages was Maeve. So Maeve will be my daughter’s middle name.
Ok, back to Riley.
Step 1: Switch the name with any name in the database with the same number of letters.
Ok, I’m going to choose Clara as my name.
Step 2: Switch that name with a name that starts with the last letter of the old name.
Ok, I’m going to switch Clara with a name that starts with A. I’m going to go ahead and choose Anna.
Step 3: Switch that name with a name with one of the same “usages” of the old name (like Italian, English, etc.)
Ok, I’m going to switch Anna with a Biblical name. I’ll go ahead and pick Sarai.
Step 4: Switch that name with a name that has an opposite meaning to the old name.
Well, Sarai means “contentious” so I’m going to switch Sarai with Mira, which means “peace.”
Step 5: Switch that name with a name that has a similar popularity to the old name in 2007. (Off the charts, in the top 100, in the top 500, etc.)
Mira is in the 900s. I’m gonna go with Laurel nn Lara. So my daughter’s name is Laurel Maeve “Lara”.
