Kilmeny and George were thrilled with the arrival of Gilbert Ernest Blackwood. They thought it would be fun to ask their parents what their names would have been. Kilmeny's mother would have named her Gilbert if she'd been a boy and Ernest was a name George's parents debated with up to the very last minute. So they combined the two.
