This has been a fairly quiet year all in all (or as quiet as it can be with 29 grandchildren!)
We'll start of with Will and Aurelia's news. I know that I haven't written a Christmas letter in nearly 10 years, so their children are all grown up now and Jed has been added to the family.
Reading back through my letters I've mentioned 'Josh' a couple of times. Well, it's official, Belle has married her 'boyfwend' of 15 years. It wasn't much of a surprise that they got engaged and moved into a student flat together when they started at university as they both live up in Aberdeen and it made financial sense for them to share. They're both set on finishing their degrees before starting a family though which is a relief! Over the last ten years, Josh has absolutely blossomed (OK, so he's stepped out of Belle's shadow!) He's studying law now and is top of his class, a huge achievement. Belle is studying journalism. Quite the power couple! She's recently been recruited by the NME to write a column on the Scottish music scene which is an incredible boost to her career and means that she and Josh can be found at gigs or clubs most nights! How they can juggle it all, I'll never know.
Lena is doing great as well. She's somewhere in India (!) as she's decided to take a gap year with a group of friends before going to university next year (she's gonna study medicine). We miss her terribly but are flying out to Australia in January to spend a fortnight with her there.
I think that Lucy is a bit lonely without her big sisters around but that simply means that she spends a lot of time at our house hanging out with her Grandpa JimJam(I don't think she minds Granny's cooking either though!) She's still doing gymnastics as well and that keeps her going.
Both Josh and Harry are great, playing football for the national team! They're the unstoppable duo and do everything together. I can't remember the last time I ever saw them apart...
Fliss is also doing great - and my prediction came true. She was 'spotted' two years ago and has been modelling ever since although Will and Aurelia won't let it get in the way of her schooling. She adores it and poses absolutely all the time!
Jed, the 'baby' is also great. His brothers adore looking after him and the three spend hours playing kick-about or holed up in the tree house.
Onto Jem and Sylvie's family which has also grown since I last wrote. Charlie's tennis has been coming on in leaps and bounds (that's to be expected with parents like Jem and Sylvie!) Isla is the same way. Both are competing at international level already and Jem has given up his job to coach them both and to run their business - that's how successful they are! However, school does come first and he'll only let them practice if they've done all their work.
Seth does well enough at tennis but much prefers to read. He spends his time after school helping out at the shop and burying into a book where there is a free moment. He's a massive help to Sylvie in every way as he also adores looking after Tillie and Marina, both of whom are very good little girls. They're perfectly content to play board games and then snuggle up with their big brother to read a story.
Lizzie and Sam welcomed their second biological child three years ago. Adeline is perfection personified and a joy for everyone to have around. Adelaide is the same and is also good friends with her big cousin Seth. Charlie is also doing well. He's being taught guitar by his Uncle Will and has taken a real shine to it!
Kate and Polly are much the same as before. Still cooky, still crazy and still gonna kill me for calling Paul Polly! Imogen and Esme are doing lovely as well. Both girls are incredibly artsy. Imogen wants to be a painter (and probably will be with her talent) and Esme wants to teach like her dad. She's got the patience of a saint so she'll cope well with that.
Annie and Ezra have welcomed a further two daughters (Mina and Elle) since I last wrote. Prettier girls you won't find! But I may be slightly biased...As I had previously guessed, Addie and Esme are thick as thieves. They spend all their time together playing or doing artwork. Theo is being a brilliant big brother looking after the girls very well. I don't think they'll be allowed boyfriends until they're married!
August and Marie are leading a rather crazy life at the moment. Their peaceful life with daughter Genevieve was turned upside down when they were informed they were expecting four boys! So far Levi, Henry, Adrian and Jay have only been able to cry but I can sense chaos when they learn to walk! Gen has been a real honey, helping out her mum with feeds and changes although she does refer to them as dollies!
Mia is all grown up since I last wrote. She's studying to become a laywer now and is raising her daughter Jennie with her partner Olly, an architect. They're doing fantastically but unfortunately for me, they live in London so I don't see them often. However, it is a good excuse to get to go to Selfridges!
Livie is also doing lovely. She's married now and with her husband Chris, she's just had twins Carrie and Dean. She's officially on maternity leave right now but I've never seen her so inspired before and is rattling off novels like most writers write chapters!
Well, I have to go now, writing this has exhausted me and James and I are leaving to go visit Mia, Olly and Jennie tomorrow so I must go pack.
