Maddie breaks her leg. How did it happen? How is she?

Last week when Natalie, John, and Maddie were playing outside, John thought it would be fun if the three of them climbed up the tree in the backyard and sat up there. Natalie didn't go for it but John and Maddie went up and climbed all the way to the top. Evan and I didn't even notice they were gone, we were on the porch and when we saw Natalie in the sand box we figured they were fine. Next minute we hear screaming from John and Maddie's direction - Maddie fell out of the tree. We rushed her to the hospital only to find that she had broken her left leg. She has a cast on it and is unable to walk for quite a while, but she is doing okay now. John got in a lot of trouble when Natalie told us that it was all his idea, but Maddie got in plenty of trouble too. Evan and I are just happy that they are okay, though.
