Well,
Andro has gotten a promotion at work--he is now a supervisor at the plant. Thanks to the payraise, we have been able to have two additional bedrooms built on to the back of our house. Guess what comes next... We would appreciate it if another child, a boy between ages thirteen and sixteen, could be placed with us. We would like to take in a child with behavior problems or other emotional disabilities which would make it more difficult for that child to be placed.
Chelo and
Melchor are doing very well. We went this summer to visit Celo's son and the son's mother, and he has been quite happy since the visit. Of course, it was difficult for him to leave them, but
Naiara has promised to send pictures every month.
Chelo has been attending public school as a sophomore, and is rapidly progressing in his English skills.
Melchor is in the local high school's drama class, and was recently in the school play. He has made one very close friend, another freshman boy named CJ. CJ has helped him a lot in socializing with the other students by teaching him American customs and introducing him to our area's way of life.
Both boys,
Chelo especially, had difficulty adjusting to
Andro and
Cerys, as neither are
Christian and the boys were raised Catholic, but are learning to respect their religion or lack thereof.
Lucas and
Chelo get along very well;
Chelo is considering a job in an assisted living agency when he grows up.
Thank you for such wonderful children!
