Congratulations!Congrats to Elise, Brandon, and Tallulah Smith!Mathieu Olivier is a ten-year-old boy from rural France. He was living with his grandparents until his grandfather died of old age and his grandmother (immobilized from a stroke years ago) couldn't handle Mathieu anymore. She was always a very stern woman and did not get along well with her grandson; continuing communication is not necessary. Mathieu is a little hard from living with his criticizing grandparents for so long, but with luck, he will be fine eventually. We know from our experiences with him in the home that he loves children, so hopefully with Tallulah in the house he will warm up faster. Mathieu prefers to speak French but is nearly fluent in English from school, though he has a thick accent.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usAlixandra Coralie is a five-year-old girl from Lancaster, England. She is a beautiful, hopeful young girl; however, she was in the car when a truck spun out of control and rammed into the driver's seat. Alix was knocked unconscious -- when she woke up in the hospital, both her parents had died. She is very traumatized by this experience. She only talks when necessary, and doesn't seem to realize very often that other people are around her. We believe that this will fade in time. Alix will need a lot of comfort and love to get through these tough times though. The head injury resulted in her vision being impaired; this should be able to be corrected with a heavy glasses prescription.
