Chun Jiang is a 6 year old girl from China [she speaks Mandarin]. She was abandoned by her family because they wanted a boy, not a girl. She likes to play with other children, help around the house, and sing. We placed her with you because she has commented about wanting to be raised Christian. She is very shy but will come around in no time.
Adisa Emeka is a 14 year old boy from Africa. He speaks Yoruba [an African tribal language] and very little English. He is a Christian and it is extremely important to him that he remains so. He likes to sing and tell stories [oral stories passed down to him from other generations]. He has a slight hearing problem but it can be easily fixed by a hearing aid. His dream is to travel all over the world, learn as many things and languages as he can, and meet a lot of diverse people. He is also very protective of his little sister.
Eniola Kunto is Adisa's little sister, who is 9. She only speaks Yoruba and feels the same way about her religion as her brother. She is still emotionally shaky after the death of her parents and older sister [Adisa's younger sister]. She likes to play any sport, especially soccer. He current aspiration is to be an dancer. She loves to dance, sing, and act in plays that she writes herself [which they are always quite interesting!].
Aislin Justice is a 7 year old girl from Australia. She has shoulder-length light brown hair and emerald green eyes. She speaks Dutch, English, and Hungarian [she lived with a Dutch foster mom and her husband was Hungarian. They both spoke English so she picked up all three languages]. She likes to read, play basketball, watch movies, and is fascinated with animals. She has an Australian Shepherd named Malina, whom she is very fond of. She was raised Lutheran but will change to another Christian-based religion.

update
Pala had her beautiful twin girls, Brynja Anne and Svana Marie shortly after moving in with us. She enjoys taking care of them occasionally, but is usually more than happy to let us do the hard stuff. She and her brother are extremely protective of the girls and I feel sorry for their future boyfriends! For some reason, Pala loves little Aislin who is helping her with her English. Baldur has joined the soccer team here and is an amazing goalie. If he wanted to, he could date any of the local girls, but he prefers to stay home and play with the kids.
Adisa and Eniola are never far from each other. They have performed at our church several times singing African songs and they have been a great hit. They inspired three other families from our church to adopt some of their friends from their village and now there are 8 Yoruba speaking kids in our neighborhood. All of them are also working very hard at learing English.
Chun, whom we call Chandra, was very shy when we adopted her, but loves to help care for our many babies. Baldur especially loves to play with her. Much to my delight, they love doing housework together. He teaches her little Icelandic sayings and he now speaks a little Mandarin.
Aislin is doing very well like I said, her and Pala enjoy each others company alot. Malina is a great hit with the kids but Aislin is who she is loyal to.
Itis and Mandelo love all the attention they get from all their new siblings; although Mandelo gets jealous that he doesn't get all mommy's attention sometimes.
Our whole family has joined something called 'sunday soccer', even those who don't play love to watch and its a great family event.
thanks again for our great kids!
