HelpDream Family/Congrats Game - Round 1
Here's how Round 1 is going to go: everyone had a single child. Name them from the banks below (use FN for first names only and MN for middle names only). I got the names from actual celebrity babies, and I hope they're not too out there.
Also, as if your families didn't have enough to worry about with your new arrival, something has happened to either yourself or your spouse. I've provided the general information; you can get as detailed as you like. You can put a positive spin on it or make it bad news, whatever you want. You don't have to write anything, but it would be nice.
And be sure to tell how the media is reacting to the birth of your first child!

Well, we experienced quite a shock this year - both Taylor and I were nominated for a Grammy for Best Instrumental Jazz Solo! I was probably the most surprised; I'm better known for my group work as part of a big band than I am for my solo work. I knew Taylor would win, and he did. I'm very proud of him. He deserved it much more than I did.
Besides, I had other things to worry about, like the birth of our baby boy, Enzo Friday. He's a beautiful baby, with dark hair like mine and blue eyes like his father. Everyone loves him, especially the media. Sometimes I think he's more famous than we are! Though that's only to be expected, I suppose; jazz musicians rarely get the most coverage.

When Natalia found out she was pregnant, she knew she was in for a long, bumpy ride. She and Morgan had not planned on getting pregnant quite yet - but they had been talking about sometime in the near future, so it wasn't too, too soon.
Natalia had noticed that she had started gaining weight... And of course, it was all over magazine covers, it seemed like every one she saw had something about her "baby bump". She didn't believe it. How could people be so rude? She had just gained a little weight!
Then she found out at four months. Of course, she was immediatley giddy with joy, as was Morgan, but definetly shocked. With only five months left to go, the preparing began immediatley. Morgan and Natalia tried to stay out of the public eye.
Luca Huckleberry Chia, 8 lbs 11 oz, arrived on April 4 at 7:45 pm. He was delivered by emergency C-section, which was a little scary, but not traumatic. Both Mama and Baby ended up totally, completely safe. Another surprise was his being male. The whole pregnancy, it was told that he was a she! Morgan was all ready for his little girl, Willow Adelina. Along came Luca, with his beautiful dark hair and blue eyes. Natalia wanted to name him Luca (so Luca it was) and Morgan suggested Huckleberry. Morgan had always been a little bit hippie-ish, and he had been suggesting middle names like Sage, Stone, River... And Huckleberry. Natalia loathed the others, but luckily thought Huckleberry was adorable.

Little Atticus has arrived! We are so excited for his birth. He is our lil literary baby--we each chose a name for him from our favorite books, To Kill a Mockingbird and Huckleberry Finn. We hope it isn't too much...
The media has been in a bit of a frenzy of Atticus. Because I am fairly young and Miles has been a large artist for almost a decade, we have had some paparazzi issues. Added to that, Miles just won a huge award for record of the year. We are very excited.
Attie is a good baby, kind of small and colicky but adorable. He looks a lot like his father, and he loves to cuddle. I am already in love with being a mom, and, although I have not told Miles yet, I cannot wait to have a second baby!!

It was so exciting! So, everything was going great the first month or so and I thought he was doing a great job. Then we got a call about a two months into the show saying that they were calling the show off! I felt really bad for Drew. Back to the Nick kids shows, I guess. As for me, I'm going to start back at practice in a couple months. Hope everything goes well!

Jason and I have been living the good life so far. Jason's role in the television show has been going steady and strong--and its already booked for its 3rd and 4th seasons on air. Jason's been very busy lately, but I've been just as busy. Six months ago, I discovered that I was pregnant. Well, as soon as the media got wind of that (and I still don't know how they did), they were all over our house and wanted all sorts of interviews, specials, and whatnot. After the initial hype, everything died down until two months ago.
My dad was a real estate tycoon, and he had properties all over the place. Unfortunately, two months ago the price of real estate dropped sharply, leaving all my property holdings with little value. All of a sudden, the media wanted to know all about what I owned, how much money I had, and how Jason's and my marriage was doing now that my fortune was in danger. It was a very stressful time for Jason and I. He was trying to film the television series, I was already kind of worried about the properties, and our first child was due in two short months! Everything began to blow over after prices started rising. Things still aren't back to their pre-fall values, but we're doing all right.
Moses Flynn Hill was born on January 2! He was 7 lb. 4 oz. and he's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Moses has light brown hair and greyish blue eyes. He doesn't cry too much and is quite photogenic; which is good because the media have been taking a gazillion pictures of him and I (and Jason, when he's around).

The press made a fuss about Luca's birth as Raphael apparently is THE rising star in his business right now. We dealt with it in our own way: we just stopped reading the paper for about two weeks. ;-) Now that everything's calming down a bit the next big news hit our little family:

But the deal's worth a great deal of money, and as we're planning to buy a house for us and our little one, Raphael finally signed. Well, I considered accompanying Raphael, but the heat over there in morocco wouldn't be good for Luca, so I finally decided to stay. Hard times to come... but I'm sure we'll make it through, anyways.

The man took several more, and a journalist interviewed Jae and Drew about their new roles as parents. When they were gone, Jae settled the little boy in his crib and gave her husband a tired kiss.
This business of having babies was rather tiring, and moreso since the media wanted to hear all about the next generation's Fleming Soap heir. Luca Friday Fleming: Luca for Great-grandpa Luca Petőcs on Drew's side of the family, and Friday for Jae's favourite movie, His Girl Friday. Sure, Luca Walter would've been an option, too, but Friday had seemed dashing and sharp with Luca and Fleming sandwiching it.
They were going to do their best to make use of the nanny as little as possible, and both were beginning to feel it--for all they'd been told about how exhausting a baby was, they hadn't quite believed it until now.
Jae was still recording--in fact, she was going to record a duet with Paul Simon in honour of his coming birthday. It was particularly special because the two had written the song in question, "Blues For Another Day," together. They planned to release it as a single and had agreed to perform it at the coming Grammy awards ceremony. It was at that same ceremony that Jae was hoping to take home an award or two for her second album, Electric Star.
Drew, on the other hand, was busy with the family business, helping to keep their prosperity going. Long hours, meetings scheduled at inconvenient times, and more fancy gatherings than he liked to count took up a lot of his time.
Both of them were devoted to making sure that they spent enough time both with each other and with their new son, who had Jae's curly dark hair and Drew's big grey eyes.

This is a great role and would be one of my best works yet; however, I have decided to pass it up because I would like to take time to relax and spend some time with my son! =)

Our son is finally here! We argued about names for a while before finally settling on Alex's favorite, Cassius (after Cassius Clay, aka Muhammad Ali, of course). We're calling him Cash for short, which, of course, makes his country-music-loving mother very happy. ;) Unfortunately, shortly before Cash was born, Alex lost a fight that left him with a broken rib. He's not happy about not being able to fight until it heals, but he's trying to look on the bright side and enjoy being at home with us while he's recovering.

A lot's been going on around here, what with all of the excitement surrounding the arrival of our first child, a healthy baby boy! In addition, I was recently faced with a huge decision - I was offered an amazing part in Sofia Coppola's latest film, a piece set in the 1950s.. and I was also offered a role in a remake of 'Casablanca,' my all-time favorite movie, starring opposite Ben Affleck.
It was a tough choice, but I ultimately chose the Sofia Coppola film - I admire her work enormously, and felt like it was a good artistic and emotional challenge for me. However, the biggest draw was the fact that all the filming will take place here in California.. for the 'Casablanca' project, there would be lots of travel involved. I was sad to pass up that opportunity, but right now, it's more important for me to be close to my baby son and my husband.

It was a tough choice, but I ultimately chose the Sofia Coppola film - I admire her work enormously, and felt like it was a good artistic and emotional challenge for me. However, the biggest draw was the fact that all the filming will take place here in California.. for the 'Casablanca' project, there would be lots of travel involved. I was sad to pass up that opportunity, but right now, it's more important for me to be close to my baby son and my husband.
