Greetings all,
Much has happened since I last wrote and it seems like there is too much to catch up on.
Nathaniel Gregory James aka. Nate, recently had his family 25th birthday party at home where everyone was thrilled to see him. It seemed only a few days ago he graduated elementary school and now he's following in our footsteps in his final year of Veterinary School. His childhood obsession with hockey truely did pay off for him and his scholarship in University really pushed him to succeed. He's also been dating quite a lovely girl name Emma, and call it instinct but I believe there will be wedding bells in their future. He still maintains a close friendship with Garret, who oddly enough has also entered Vet medicine but more on that later.
Alexander Ramsay Thomas, aka Alex, 22, has followed in his father's and brother's atheletic footsteps and also recieved a scholarship for his Hockey. He's being scouted by several teams as we speak. His ambitions are however far different and in the fall will be attending Law school while playing for a local farm team. A wise choice for him, and I know he'll be fantastic at it. Not one to settle, he has yet to bring a long term girlfriend home. He's a heartbreaker, though I'm glad he's pushing his schooling right now. He'll be a success.
Rebecca Elspeth Anne aka. Becca 22, is despite her natural ability at academia decided to enter Vet medicine along with her eldest brother. I did suspect it, her love of the horses and doting on the cats was probably a giveaway. She'll be attending the same school as her brother and Garret. It seems as though Becca was right all along and she a Garret will be married in about 2 years. After she chased him through childhood and pre-teenhood, she finally gave up. Garret went away for a year on an exchange came back and Becca was grown up and apparently not interested. Things progressed and now Daddy's angel is grown up, and Will's quite sad about this, but he's now looking forward to grandchildren.
Adam Declan Ross, aka Adam has followed his life's ambition and has become a teacher and a writer. He graduates in about a month, and we're so looking forward to you all coming. you'll also all be meeting his current love interest, Natalie. He's been offered and has taken the role of a 11th grade teacher at his old high school. The principal is none other than the 1st grade teacher he and Chris tormented to no end. She jokingly told him after he got the job, that she remembered he and Chris as giving her nightmares.
Christopher Cameron Reid aka Chris is still as attention grabbing as ever. He was able to graduate a year in advance and used that time to explore the world on his own money. He's got a degree in journalism and he's been offered a well paying position (but bottom level) position in London. It's a long flight away, but he'll be fine. Much like Alex he's maintaining his bachelorhood, but claims to want a big family. I don't ask how big...
Both he and Adam, Becca and Alex are all still very close despite their different lives. He and Adam still double as their father on his birthday, and have a good laugh. They're stil the comedians.
Iain Graham Lindsay, 18 aka Iain is in his 2nd year of university and has begun to look towards the path of Medicine like two of his other siblings. Less of a world traveller than the others however, he seems more content to putter around the University and barn when he's home to care for his horses and dog. He's popular but still probably the quietest of the bunch. (which is about normal for most families) His musical talents have really helped him lose the shyness. His violin and piano are top notch now, and his gutair is improving daily.
Maura Isobel Greer aka Maura 18, like her big brother Adam seems to be leaning towards a career in education. She's only 18 still though and I expect she'll change her mind atleast once. Neither her hair nor her sense of fairness and therefore temper have changed much, yet she still is the little mother. She's also quite popular but prefers to go along unoticed if at all possible. Kind of difficult as both the shock of her and her brother's hair often draws attention.
Andrew Phillip Craig, Sarah Ethne Madeleine, Katherine Fiona Eleanor and Harrison Morgan Monroe (15) are all in their second year of highschool.
Andrew, who oddly has picked up no nickname besides his last name, is somewhat of a jock. Apparently like many expected he inherited the hockey gene and is already Varisty at the high school. He's still quite a good student though and maintains an A- average with little or no prompting.
Sarah, is the dramatist of the group. She's joined her local drama club and still loves to sing and dance. She's shown a particular affinity in History and the teacher has been trying to convince her to join the Historical society. Adam has begun to step in as well, and try to convince her to go to a summer program in Egypt for future archeologists. She's interested but not yet convinced.
Kate is perhaps the most horse focused of all the kids alongside of Nate, Becca, Iain & Harry. Though not on a particularly academic bent, she's got rather a knack for languages and she's looking forward to the class trip to Germany which they fundraised for themselves. We were all impressed. Her current ambition seems to be to get us to help to buy her a saddle, but in the long run I think she wants to run a horse program of sorts.
Harry is using his given academic and sports abilities to further his ambition of becoming the 6th potential Vet (alongs side, Will, Nate, Becca, Iain and myself) in the family. As into hockey and soccer as his other siblings, there have been college scouts out to look at him already. Work ethic wise his is probably the greatest, and the youngest among 11 kids I can understand why. When he's not working at school or the barn or his part-time job (both he and Andrew work at a local farm supply) he's out with his horse and the dogs, or asking if there's something he can do in the clinic.
As a whole we have 11 wonderful kids, who are all fairly close and would do anything for one another. Adam is concerned about teaching one of his siblings next year, but I don't think they'll be worries. We're all getting together once again for the Iain and Maura's birthday and everyone is coming so it will be a full house.
