I'm looking for information on the following male M & R names. I'll put anything I know or have seen.
Malique -- Malik is listed here as Arabic for "king", so I assume this is related?
Mario -- This sight lists at as related to Marius, which is derived from Mars or Male, but I've always seen it as a male form of Mary???
Markel/Markell -- Related to Mark somehow? Is it German?
Marquez/Marques -- Related to Marquis I'm sure, but is it Spanish or French or what?
Mekhi -- ???
Miguelangelo -- My guess is Italian?, and I know it's just Miguel + Angelo.
Misael -- ??? It reminds me of Michael.
Raekwon -- ???
Reilly -- Is it the same origin as Riley or is it different?
Remington -- It's English, and the -ton makes me think it's gonna be "Something town"
Rey -- Spanish? Related to Ray?
Rhett -- ??? No clue here
Rigoberto -- seems Spanish or Italian with a German influence
Ryker -- ???
Ryland -- Is it the same as Rylan or something different?

MARKEL is not used in Germany any more. Seibicke's Historical Dictionary of first names has: pet form of names starting with Mark-
REMINGTON means "from Rimington", Lancashire; ("Farmstead on the boundary stream")
RHETT is explained differently by Hanks & Hodges (1992): "from Dutch 'de Raedt', from Middle Dutch 'raet' (advice)" (invented by Margaret Mitchell)
RIGOBERTO is from German RICHBERT (rich/realm + bright/famous)

Mario may be used as a masc. form of Mary, but it isn't. People just got confused over the etymology of it, and being that Hispanic countries are traditionally heavily Catholic and therefore venerate the Virgin Mary a lot, parents were quite eager to think that Mario was a masc. form of Mary.
I would think Miguelangelo's just a combo of Miguel and Angelo too. Miguel is Spanish, but Angelo's Italian.
Reilly is just another spelling of Riley; it's pronounced the same. Think Bill O'Reilly for an example of it as a surname.
Rhett's in the database. Ryland's probably just a variant of Rylan, yes.
